On Friday I received a call asking if I am looking for Job. I said yes and they asked me If I can come to Thane Ganesh Tower third floor yesterday. I lived in Malad so it was 2 hr journey. I went to their place and there were many red flags.

First being there were more than 20 people cramp sitting in a two adjacent room .
and many more to come in every 3-5 mins. The timing they said was 9 am - 2 pm so imagine how much people they are scamming from.

When my turn came. There was this woman not much older than around my age. She did basic intro and easy interview and said you will be shortlisted and easily getting good salary, pf etc. Saying you will get call from company at 4 pm for selection. ( which was weird since we were having interview around 2pm) . She asked me to pay 2500. That time I instantly knew this was scam. I lied about not bringing money with me but she insist ask money form parent or friends etc. I said I will bring tomorrow but she said pay 200 now and bring other amount later. I was not allowed to leave until I pay that amount and they have this two bouncer type people outside the door. Not allowing people to leave unstill pay.

After leaving their office I step outside near entry of building thinking what just happened. A man asked me to go away saying no standing here ( bruh this is residency building) . I think they keep people at ground floor too so people can't talk to each other.

While on my way to home I immediately complain on my UPI app and my bank Customer care no. About last transaction being fraud. I have receipt of 200 rs . I thought of going to bank but it was closed.

Today I received this message.

I am thinking of complaining to Cybercrime website too but I am hesitant because
of the following

1. I don't want Police of thane to say come visit them since I made a complain ( dude travelling there alone would cost me more than the amount I got defrauded of )
2. I check online and this scam has been happening for money than 3 years ( yes same scam , same building, same room)
3. Some says local thane police are involved in this and are getting their cut.

People of thane, please tell what you think.
