Last month my bill went up by $25 as I guess one of my discounts ended. I chatted online and the guy said he had approval for a $25 courtesy credit (which I received), and that I would hear back later on what they could do for a discount for me. I wasn't surprised to not hear back, even though he made it sound like a team of executives were working on it (ha ha).

I then chatted with someone last night and was strung along for over 30min, and then by magic I was disconnected due to inactivity even though I was on the entire time and responding to questions. I then couldn't get back to chat.

Long story short, I'm now paying more than I want for my service and Xfinity makes it near impossible to know if I'm chatting with someone real, AI, if they're actually trying to help me, etc.

When the reimagining of Epcot was announced in 2019, it was amazing. I remember going into Odyssey and watching the 360 show of what was to come. Fast forward seven years, and I wonder if the executives ever think "Yep, we ruined XYZ by doing this."

Just a few thoughts....my Top 3 good/bad. Also, Epcot remains my favorite park and my 10-year-old son feels the same, as although I feel like some bad decisions were made, we absolutely love the park.

Good (to me anyway):

  1. I love the replacement of Universe of Energy with GOTG: CW. Yes, UOE was a nostalgia-filled throwback to the early Epcot days, but few people want to sit through a 20-minute pre and post-show to be able to see dinosaurs. The utter popularity of GOTG shows that it was the right move, as the attraction is lauded by virtually everyone and I always ride it multiple times when I'm on vacation. Before GOTG was built, I had stopped going to UOE for over ten years.
  2. I'm glad they canceled the PLAY pavilion, as even back in 2019 it looked dated. We never actually saw more than colorful renderings and emojis, but still, it looked like a cheap redo. Having said that, it's terrible that they haven't found a use for that pavilion and are letting it just sit there.
  3. I don't remember if this was part of the reimagining, but Ratatouille fills a gap with a kids attraction that is fun to ride. I know that many hate the new rides with Disney/Pixar IP, but they've done a good job with it in my eyes.

Bad (to me anyway):

  1. They should have kept the plans to renovate Spaceship Earth, as from what I read the attraction was largely remaining the same, just with a new 'light journey' theme. It would have been great to finally get rid of the dated "take your picture but good luck if your face actually shows" part of the ride. The post-show is also terrible with the dated computer games.
  2. Why is the Moana attraction so hard to find? Maybe it's just me, but the entrance is in such a weird non-central place.
  3. Removing the fountain was a terrible, terrible decision. Yes, people like hanging out in the chairs (I guess?), but the fountain made for a really cool experience at night when it was going off and Spaceship Earth was glowing.
  4. (I had to list a 4th ha ha) It would have been a great time to reimagine Journey into Imagination, as virtually everyone agrees that the original was the best and they bastardized the ride (the current one is better than the original redo, but it's still pales in comparison to the original).
