How to switch as a Data analyst?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been working as a Data QA analyst for about a year now, and honestly, it’s getting super boring. My daily routine is mostly just checking data manually, with some SQL and basic Python scripting for validation pipelines.

I used to build full analytics pipelines and cool visualizations, and I’ve realized that's what I actually love doing. I love finding actual insights and telling stories with data.

I’m refreshing my old skills, but making the switch feels really tough right now. My current toolkit is SQL, Python, and Apache Superset.

Has anyone here successfully switched to Data Analyst or related role? What should my next steps be?

Built but failed I guess

I built BasketWise a retail transaction data analytics platform where users can upload weekly or monthly sales data to uncover product behavior, bundle opportunities, hidden basket-driving products, and actionable insights on what to promote, bundle, or fix to increase revenue.

Spent almost 3 months talking to people and posting across subreddits trying to validate BasketWise, but still struggling to convert users.

Would genuinely appreciate any suggestions or feedback on the product, positioning, or outreach.

And if anyone wants to try it on their own sales data, hit me up.
