Moving from Ontario to Manitoba; do I exchange my licence or renew it first?

Hey everyone,
I’m currently living in Toronto with an Ontario driver’s licence that expires in October. I’m moving permanently to Winnipeg next month and I’m trying to understand what the correct process is.
My confusion is basically this:

Should I renew my Ontario licence before I move?

Or do I just move and switch it to a Manitoba licence?

Is there a deadline after becoming a resident in Manitoba to exchange it?

And basically how does it work? The conversion from ontario DL to Manitoba DL.

I don’t want to waste money renewing Ontario if it doesn’t make sense, but I also don’t want to mess up the process and risk driving issues.
If anyone has done this move recently, what did you actually do step by step?

Hi folks,

Next month is my anniversary. My wife is flying in from Manitoba again to celebrate it with me. You all helped me plan my birthday before, but it got ruined by the snow. On my two days off, we got 65 cm and stayed indoors the whole time. She hated it. I hated it. She hated Toronto.

This time, I want to win her back.

I’m looking for a romantic, cozy dinner spot downtown, ideally with a nice view. We don’t eat beef, so good non-beef options are important. My budget is up to $200 for two. I live in Scarborough, and this will be her first proper downtown experience. I really want to make it count.
