Scared for mom

How scary is a double bypass? My mom is 72. 100% blocked on one side & 85% blocked on the other. Had angiogram & stent put in yesterday. Surgery as soon as possible (w/in a month).

I’m worried & scared. I know there’s a 98% success rate, but she’s my mom & I can’t lose her. My dad (76) has dementia, so he’s not much help. I’m also an only child (28, was adopted when they were in their 40’s).

What can I expect? Should I be really scared? My mom is basically all I got now. All the family doesn’t live near us - different states.

Thank you all.

Communication Issues at Work

I’ve had communication issues at work & I’ve been there almost 2 years. It’s been my favorite place to work. I wake up, am excited for the day, & then have communication issues & it really takes a toll on me.

Emails are not clear, or don’t have all the info needed for the other party to understand. Communication in person is challenging sometimes when I hear what’s being said, understand it, but when it’s my turn to talk/answer the question, I either don’t answer in a way they understand, or I answer & I have to elaborate more.

It’s very frustrating because I know I’m having this issue. I’m trying to become better by writing draft emails for my manager to read before sending. I’m trying to pause & think of my answer before speaking. I’m just having a really hard time with communication. I don’t know why either. This is the only job I’ve had that I’m having issues in!

I’m scared to be fired for not improving on communication :( and if I am fired, I don’t know what to do next because if the next job asks for a reference, they’ll see that I have communication issues :(

Black Stool - iron?

I started taking iron right after my cystectomy & now I’m worried about my stool being black.

I’m not vomiting, nauseated, or anything like that. I’m also not in any pain. Just scared now that my stool is black. It’s normal too, not tarry that I can see.

Should I go to the hospital to be safe?

Hi all :)

So excited to have surgery on Tuesday!! I hope my doctor can get everything out. If not, I’ll have to have a more invasive surgery hopefully later this year with a specialist and the robot.

I have endometriosis (diagnosed in 2022, first noticed in the rectum) & a 7cm endometrioma (or 2 cysts right next to each other looking like 1 giant one on my right ovary) & am now having a hysterectomy to hopefully help my pain. If she can’t get the cyst(s) off, the ovary is coming with her. Fine by me!

Anyways, any tips on recovery? Things I can buy? Not do & do? Certain foods or drinks (non-alcoholic) help?

Thanks all :)
