My boyfriend is leaving for his first deployment very very soon. He will be gone for 9 months 🥹 when he was in bootcamp and ait, I visited my home country, and went to the dominican republic and mexico for missionary work! And I also moved out for college!
But this time, for his deployment, the waiting time will be longer. I know i'll probably mostly be busy with school, but what do y'all recommend me doing to pass the time and make my alone time as efficient as possible? I'm also thinking about taking a phlebotomy class to be certified (trying to work for the medical field).
I know last time someone here told me they got their master's while their husband was gone😭? That's insane kudos to them, anyways.

does anybody else have the same issue as me? ive bought visitors permit/weekend permits online through the parking portal for my partner who visited me on campus every now and then throughout this past year, but i see those charges on my eBill, even when i paid for them online. i submitted a help ticket for it and they told me i got charged because i used tritoncash to pay for them. are we not supposed to lol? thats still money though ya know idk im confused lmk if anybodys having the same issue!

hellooo, im still fairly a new military girlfriend, but my boyfriend that ive been with for about two and a half years now received his first deployment orders to the middle east. he doesnt know how long he'll be gone for.

he went to basic + ait last year, and because hes a reservist, he only gets called in for drill for a weekend every month or two. so this was very unexpected. he had deployment orders that mightve been coming in next year, but it definitely wasn't supposed to be this soon. just recently, something happened in his platoon and now he is unexpectedly leaving in less than a month.
we have had some distance between us because im in college, but it's summer right now so i am back at home, very close to my boyfriend's home, and we had so many things planned together to get the best out of our summer together before i have to go back to school.

i am absolutely devastated. we aren't married yet, because i am in college currently and we are still pretty young, but we went to high school together and have been committing ourselves to each othet ever since we started dating. my heart physically aches hearing about this honestly, and i just needed to get it off my chest.
