Is it normal for the tire bead to be this far in from the rim edge and not flushed?

Edit: these are the size tires that manufacturer calls for. I just got the Michelins and they look narrower.

Probably a dumb question, but Is it normal for the rim to be exposed with the Michelin pilots?

For comparison, I included pictures of my rims on my Daytona (Goodyear tires), and the bead seems more flushed with the rim.
