what’s your experience like with a saint bernard?

hi guys, i am thinking of getting a saint bernard and i want to know everyone’s experience on raising them. this wouldnt be my first large dog but my first saint. i’ve always had male dogs and prefer them, but i’m thinking of getting a female saint lately. i’ve never actually had a female dog before so im excited for that. whichever gender, they will be loved and spoiled for sure. i j dont know if i should get a rough or smooth coat. i know they both shed alot. just wanted to know how often do you guys get them professionally groomed? what was your experience like raising them as a puppy? were they very mouthy? how are the puppies like around children? what’s their diet like? and lastly, the vet bills. i’m based in canada and i want to find a good breeder that someone can recommend me. how much did you guys end up getting your puppy from a breeder? and do you think it’s worth paying that much? thanks in advance :)

Please read his story

I have a GoFundMe for my beautiful Bernie I would like to share that doing this GoFundMe campaign for him forced me to rely on social media. Because of that I was able to reconnect with some very special friends, that for whatever reason, lost touch. So, Bernies journey enabled me to reconnect and enable our friendships to blossom. So please help this very special dog. Thank you. Lisa https://GoFundMe.me/f409571bo

Smelly neck

Hi. We have adopted 5 year old short haired Saint Bernard. All going reasonably well, but whole house stinks because of her beard/neck is trapping drool. What is the best way managing that? I am thinking of trimming hair in that area shorter?

Help for Lisa's Beloved Saint Bernard

My name is Lisa I am 61 years old, I have a Saint Bernard that has an extreme case of allergic skin disease, elbow displysia, and a neurological disorder. He is on meds, creams, sprays, supplements and a special diet. I was recently forced to file bankruptcy. My friends and family won't even help they think I should give up on him. I am not willing to do that. I would be grateful if any could help Bernie a little. Thank you, Lisa. https://gofund.me/6ce03b537
