I'm going to be starting a new tank here soon, and it'll be my first tank in a long time. I'm going for a betta.

I've had planted tanks before, but I've never been great at making the plants I find in local shops and swaps flourish. This time, I'm going online and have quite a decent budget, so I figure I'd ask.

What plants do you have now you wish you'd had as a beginner?

What plants did you put in your tank later on, that you wish you'd planted upfront in setup?

And vice versa, what plants do you wish you hadn't bought when you started? What plants do you wish you'd waited to put in?

I'm getting back into the hobby slowly.

I've seen the baby bettas at petco, and I love the idea(watching it grow up, being surprised at colors) but don't wanna support their practices.
