Mono Shiny Steel Squad to Masterball

Finally done with this. This wasn’t crazy hard to do but very tedious, from pokeball rank to UB4 was a breeze…..but once I got to UB3-UB1 it was nothing but pure Char-Y, Garchomp, H-Sneasler, Mega Venusaur, Basculegion and so on. Surprisingly my team held up really good against most of the meta but did require me a lot of the time to outplay or make hard reads.

So now to discuss the lineup:

Mega Skarmory is super slept on, counters a lot of the current meta. Crazy OHKO potential. No bulk investment was needed due to Klefki always being paired with Skarmory. With reflect and light screen up plus Skarmory’s natural bulk allows for Skarmory to take a lot of hits. Be wary though, Brave Bird usage can vary staying out for long.

Archaludon is a no brainer; really good bulk, great typing and can be extremely hard to take down if the conditions are right. I ran a very bulky archaludon with all HP and SpD investment, with good natural defense plus Stamina I didn’t worry too much about defense investments. Also with one electro shot SpA buff Archaludon can two tap most mons. Lastly leftovers item came in clutch a lot, could run a berry but the constant health gain from leftovers makes a huge difference.

Kingambit also a no brainer; keeps Basculegion, Mega Froslass and Sinistcha in check. Immune to prankster shenanigans. Went max hp and attack, wasn’t too worried about close combat if I had reflect up. Kingambit can survive a close combat with the chopple berry and reflect being up.

Corviknight comes in clutch during matches where Mega Skarmory wasn’t that effective. Decided to invest in mostly HP and attack, didn’t stress too much on SpD bulk due to usually running Klefki support with him. Corviknight can also come in clutch with late game tailwinds, I typical don’t run Corviknight up front because most people expect a first turn tailwind from him so the chance of Corviknight being faked out or double hit into just wasn’t worth it.

Klefki the ace of my team. Without Klefki this team just couldn’t work out as well as it did. Screen support, weather support, great defensive typing, great bulk and can pick up knockouts on focus sashed mons that are not expecting Klefki to ever attack. Reflect, Light screen and rain dance are a must; I probably changed the 4th move about a 100 times but I believe dazzling gleam or any attack move works best as a 4th move. I tried thunder wave, torment, safeguard; each move coming in clutch during specific moments but not moments that were coming up guaranteed every match. Overall I was finding myself in scenarios where mons with focus sash were giving me issues, with dazzling gleam it gives you that chance to get rid of any pesky mons on 1 hp.

Lastly Aggron, the WALL. Typically ran if teams were attack heavy, just like skarmory this Mon is pretty useless if it’s not in mega evolution. Spread is pretty simply as well, just straight bulk investments. I did try running an attack spread once but damage was still underwhelming compared to body press and heavy slam.
