Question of resources to educate myself with
My home is entirely in ambient music. Dark Ambient, to be exact. you know the type. "yes, officer! i am this high!" -type of writing :D
now, i´m currently working on a 50 minute piece but i am interested of bringing a lot more tonal elements into the mix and in the spirit of Ulvers NOT SAVED (the norwegian operas version), i´m trying to write a real thing for the end parts.
the musical story the sounds imply is that even if things are corrupted and wrong around you, it´ll be allright by the end of the day.
so, the question. google suggests some ideas, but is there sources that are considered authoritative on russian orthox chorals? yeah, those kind of things that the sworn adherents swear upon
yeah, i´m fully thinking a chesnokov like finale (safe for work). i´d love to have some legitimacy behind the writing so that the difference between ambient and this new form given by chorals is even more jarring than it normally might be
