Advice on how to educate a "friend" and correct racist attitudes

They're not really friends to me but just a person I've known for a while out of nessecity.

Of us two, only I have recently started learning and deepeningy knowledge and understanding of why and how capitalism and capitalists attack and brutalize the periphery, but this person is still stuck in the mindset of "religion is the cause of all evil" and says extremely racist jokes about muslims and hindu people mocking them, says shit like "Science flies you to the moon, religion flies you into buildings"

I used to not care but recently after becoming more communist in thought, it's become very aggravating knowing what these people vote for and how they benefit from the exploitation of brown people. How can I debunk this? Maybe some books for them to read, but I doubt they'll bother. Or how to in general combat idealistic views.

This tactic of dehumanization needs to be studied

Queer people also exist in palestine, even in hamas, and even if they magically didn't, since when is being homophobic = okay to genocide? Wtf

What are some actual materialist critiques of religion? (tired of idealist liberal bullshit)

Something that's not the usual new atheist arguments you see all the time.

The "religion causes all wars" or "secular countries have higher gdp so atheism = better." It’s so shallow and completely ignores imperialism and unequal exchange and so much more. It's so fucking stupid.

Does anyone have recommendations for actual historical materialist critiques of religion? I've been religious my whole life and so I want to investigatey beliefs. Anything that actually uses dialectical materialism instead of racist nonsense is appreciated. 😁

Question about the contradictory nature of western media

I've noticed something for a while but never thought much about it until now. So much of western media is about morality, progressiveness or inclusion but when you dig into who actually made it, they almost always turn out to be supporters of some horrendous thing, like being zionists and agreeing with the settler colonialism happening in Palestine, being rabid ethno supremacists, or have literally served in militaries that oppress civilians in the periphery.

How can this happen? and how can they lecture about right and wrong while believing in this? Could someone more knowledgeable on theory help me understand?

(Examples: The Last of Us 2 / Neil Druckmann, The Boys / Tomer Capone)

Is it too late to restart?

So I started playing this game recently and I've fell in love with it, I'm 40 hours in and just helped free the prisoners in moonrise towers, but the issue is that I kinda regret my decisions, I killed the green lady and the vampire dude and gale (who I was forced to revive later) and just went with it because it was in character and all, but now it just feels like my party is missing asn that I've missed a lot, also I think I've fucked up romancing Karlach, so does restarting sound okay or is it too late? Next time I plan to just play as Karlach cuz I like her and honestly I was moving around and playing mostly as her anyway, my oc was kinda boring.
