Remember to never believe or accept any messages from people saying they "accidently reported your account" or "they got suspicious links from your account". Never click links from random messages.
Several account over the past few months from this community have made attempts to scam or high jack my account via basic scammer attempts. I have also seen these on Discord, Steam, Epic Games and other platforms. They will say things to get you worried and often send you a link where you can "fix the issue". Do not panic as their claims are always designed to get your attention and make you act hastily. I also seen some account here lost to people who fell to the same thing.
These include but are not limited to:
>I have accidently reported your account.
If someone says they did that, ignore it. It's a common trick to make you worry but even if it was true, people report other people all the time via false claim. You won't loose your account for 1 or 2 wrong reports I promise.
>I received fishing or scam links from your account.
If you don't see a message you sent, then it probably doesn't exist. If you're still worried your account has been hacked and being used without you knowing, you can check if someone is logged into or using your account from another location by going to your "account activity" or https://www.reddit.com/account-activity to see any locations and devices you're logged into.
You can also change your password anytime and that will log out all device.
>Hello I'm an artist. (Random shit about shit I'm making here)
99.99% of the time this is a scam that is either trying to get you to click on fishing link disguised as a URL to their "art" or someone trying to sell you art that is often AI made. Don't even bother. If you want art of something, go find a respected and popular artist here or the Splatoon Discords. There is no shortage of them.
As always, if you're not sure... ASK SOMEONE.
Over in r/TF2 we see people all the time asking if a message is legit or a scam. They're a bit annoying because they are the most obvious scams of people trying to take your account ever and see them every day. But those people asking are the people who are not getting their accounts stolen. It's better to ask and be a little annoying then be robbed.
Things required for this victory:
- Wellstring mis-times his shot on me landing.
- Slash on the way down paints the wall in just the right spot.
- Dash slash perfectly connects with the Nautilus and projectile pierces to hit the Rainmaker.
- Second slash connects with less then a second left to bring game to over time.
- Allies defeated the other 2 enemies just in time.
- Am holding a high object damage weapon and swim speed to break the Barrier and move up with the rainmaker before the enemy can respawn.
All factors coming together in less then 10 seconds.
