I LOVE ALL OF THEIR MODELS, just in my opinion, some are a little worse than others!!

Feel like I should be mad but I'm laughing my ass off

lost 3 games to people immediately going to the shore. hell, they DIDNT EVEN LURE A SCRAPPER. THEY SHOT IT ON SIGHT LIKE A NORTH KOREAN BORDER SECURITY GUARD

ik im posting this on saltoon but im not actually that mad about this game in particular because based on this persons gameplay im assuming they were either a child or just hadn't played rainmaker before?? they were picking up the rainmaker every chance they got and would always backtrack a little and didn't really seem like they knew where to go at first, but they caught up pretty quick after i stayed back to call them over lol

me and my other teammates still kicked ass relatively well anyway so it stayed a pretty fun match if a little frustrating, since having a teammate constantly jump for rainmaker without really understanding the mode yet makes it really hard to push

not to be a hater, but i don't really understand the point of him at all. i like that he's calm between frye and shivers personality’s but other than that he's a pretty flat character (hilarious).

also, why doesnt he wear clothes in a game thats so fashion focused? why didnt they make him any other aquatic species that could properly wear clothes? i know he kinda dresses up in splatfests, and he wears a harness in raiders, but honestly those barely count as clothes and are rarely seen. also the thing on his head is weird and doesn’t make sense, i know its supposed to imitate fins on manta rays but first of all it looks nothing like cephalic fins (partially because its orange) and second of all its touching his eyes and looks super awkward and uncomfortable.

the idols are always somewhat music focused too, so whats the point of big man? he kinda grumbles and makes weird noises in the background of deep cut’s songs but he adds basically nothing to the music. He also looks super awkward dancing because of his lack of limbs. it would've been cool if they made him like a crab that could clap his claws and add percussion, or maybe like a turtle that could chirp or something.

splatoon is also so combat focused so why choose a manta ray?? not to be annoying, but he doesn't even have thumbs, a pincer, hands or any barely understandable way to pick up a weapon and use it, Let alone a SLOSHER with a HANDLE. I know the salmonids have fins and weapons, but their fins are thinner and flimsier and im assuming they did develop muscles inside their actual fins, because of how theyre animated carrying weapons. big mans fins are way too big to reasonably do that. theres a lot of different sea creatures that have appendages that could have creatively been used as an idol, but instead we have big man just awkwardly using floating weapons touching one side of his fins. hes also a huge target on the battlefield, just saying.

basically music, fashion, and combat are all important parts of splatoon, so why choose this guy as an idol when he’s bad at all of them?

EDIT: forgot to mention that i do think his design is visibly appealing shape-wise and kinda cute but i think nintendo totally could‘ve designed an equally cute, visibally appealing character, that made sense as a splatoon idol.

Ranked on visual appeal not lore relevancy!! by visual appeal i mean cohesive design, strong color palettes, and nice outfits.

Maybe I’m hating to hate atp but I really don’t know, I despise people like this. We get it, you’re religious, we don’t give a fuck. Like, wrong crowd, dude. Maybe find a different game to do this in cause you’re really preaching to the wrong people here, pun fully intended.

edit: holy shit I started a war… which, of course I did, anything religious turns into a war one way or another. One thing I’d like to note is that I don’t think people shouldn’t be able to express their religion at all. I think that just having a cross in your name or a little phrase or symbol on your post is fine, I see people do that all the time, no big deal. It just gets to a point when you have your entire post about religion and America and the lord being your king and it’s just… it’s too much. Think if you will, for a second, who else do you see doing this, religion-wise? I’m not talking about pride posts, but people of other religions. Do you ever see people with an entire post about being/how much they love being Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, etc.? I suppose when Christianity is the biggest religion then it’s hard not to find people like this but I still do believe that the posts are for art, memes, splatfest stuff, things actually related to the game, and so on.
