Blenko bookend
My 6lb gummy bear! Sadly, a bookend is not much good by itself but I'll find one eventually. This thing is solid AF.

I finally have a good example of cadmium to show people without the selenium. Cadmium glows yellow, not orange. Any time you have an orange glow, there's selenium present as well. It's understandable, since selenium is used to color Ruby Red, Amberina, and amber colored cadmium glass (all the same formula with a different color strike heating process).
I know I said I was going to stop, but that's not how addiction works sometimes, ok? π Three more for the egg family, all Orient and Flume. Drop your guesses below!!
Both Orient and Flume. Both winners! I have another egg coming too. Will update once I have the whole egg family.
Two new vases! Which one is your favorite?
This was labeled as P.V. France, but I'm getting Bohemian vibes from the ground pontil scar with a number on it. I like the swirls in the glass, and I'm not sure I've seen this combination of colors. Wish me luck finding another one π
This is an odd piece. Certain parts are vaseline, certain parts seem custard. Do you think this is overcooked opalescence, or some type of slag or cased custard? It was labeled as Fenton custard, but I've never seen Fenton custard with clear Topaz parts. I bought it just because it was weird π
It has the oval, so not Florentine Green. I just can't tell what color this thing is.
12" footed compote in Canary. I love this thing! It's glorious. Glad it arrived safely!
Had my first ever luck at an antique store today, driving through the boonies. Just sitting on the table, two opaline lampshades for $5 a pair. I didn't bother to check for damage, I was so excited I didn't even care. The tag even said they glowed. Sitting next to them was a tag that said "slag lamp??$19." Yoink! When I got home, I had these two beautiful opaline cordials waiting for me, Mosser Eye Winker for scale π
Last blind buy, I swear xD. These are normally hella expensive, so I couldn't resist. Orient and Flume 4" pulled feather vase. Vaseline?!
The candlestick was labeled PV French Opaline, but the pontil scar is telling a different story. The 8" bud vase was labeled Harrach/Franz Welz Tango vase. I suspect these are both from the 1800s. What color do they glow?!
I was hoping for uranium, but I'm not really disappointed. That cadmium/selenium glow is π₯π₯π₯
Most of them do, how about mine?! I don't care either, way. I collect eggs π
LG Wright made by Fenton, satin opalescent Topaz "Wreathed Cherry" open sugar. I had never seen satin opalescent glass quite like this, and it was love at first sight. Now for the creamer π
This is one of those pieces where I didn't really care about spending too much for manganese glass π. I wish it was one of their fancier uranium pieces, but I have a hard time spending $200 on a paperweight. I love the scales!
About 6" tall, weighs 2lbs. Polished base and ground pontil. Nice amber selenium glow. Copper sparkles throughout. Could this be Murano?
The old vs the new! Satin Mt Washington and shiny Fenton (I think). The 8" vases are unmarked. Fenton made Burmese from 1970 and didn't stamp their glass until 1973, so unmarked examples should exist. I just love these tight ruffles.
I bought a double pickle castor thinking I was going to replace the inserts. Always ask for measurements π . It's about 1/4" too small for my vaseline inserts, and that made me sad but the amount of detail in the frame, lid, and even the glass made me want to keep it. I love the toning too. Part of the collection now!
I love these little wine glasses from the 1800s. The stems are amethyst manganese glass and the cups are vaseline/uranium. It's rare to find purple and uranium together.
