First time on a convention

Hello friends of our great genre.

Today was a rather special day for Runefracture/ Runenbruch and myself. I am on the Polaris Convention in Hamburg, Germany with my own booth.

How ever small the chance might be, if anyone of you guys show up here and show this post you'll get one of my selfmade bookmarks for free.

You find me in Hall 2, Booth B2 .EG 251-2

For all others the book is available on Amazon and kIndle Unlimited

First delivery, hopefully many more to come.

Hey'all

Three month ago I made a promise to my cats, readers and myself and today I was able to fulfill it for the first time.

As written in the introduction of the Runefracture, 10% of all royalties, earnings and whatsoever comes from it are going directly to animal shelter and other animal care projects. Today the first royalties from amazon arrived and about $60 USD / 50€ are going to a local animal shelter.
I asked them first, what they currently needed the most.

Anyway, this wouldn't have been possible without y'all reading the book so thank you very much.

For those that have read Runefracture already, don't worry, I'm already working on the second book.

Have a great weekend :)

I wrote and published my debut LitRPG/System Apocalypse novel in three months. AMA.

Okay... Four months for the English version, needed to translate everything as well.

The project started for a slightly stupid reason: spite.

A colleague and I had a discussion about whether someone could write a genuinely good book (for its subgenre) in a short time without using GenAI to generate the story or other shenanigans. I decided to prove that it was possible.

Three months later, the German edition was written, edited, and self-published.
Even went ahead and painted the cover art in my garden with acrylic on canvas.

To my surprise, it actually found readers. At its peak, it reached:

• #2 in Amazon de GameLit & LitRPG

• #5 in Post-Apocalyptic Science Fiction

• #7 in Fantasy Action & Adventure

• around #1,500 in the overall Kindle Store

Ask me anything about writing fast, self-publishing, LitRPG/System Apocalypse, translation, Amazon, KU, marketing, or what I would never do again.

AMA.

My novel Runefracture is now translated

Good news, everyone: the translation is completed. :D

I’m Sebastian Bauer, and I wanted to share my debut LitRPG / System Apocalypse novel Runefracture with you. Yes, yes, there is a different title on the picture. The book originally launched in Germany under the title Runenbruch. Since my physical English copy has not arrived yet, I added a photo of the German one.

After almost a month of translation work and a final pass by native English editor Donna Graham, the English edition is finally available.

Runefracture follows Indigo Fischer after Earth is integrated into a cosmic System. Monsters appear, dungeons open, stats and abilities become real, and Indigo has to figure out how to stay human while the old world falls apart.

It’s a System Apocalypse story with:
• progression through stats, abilities, and dungeons
• combination-based rune magic
• monsters and strange entities
• divine interference
• practical survival, dark humor, and character-focused progression

One of the main things I wanted was a LitRPG where the System changes the real world, instead of sending the protagonist into a game world.

Available now on Amazon and Kindle Unlimited: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0H59J2RQG/

Happy to answer questions if anyone is curious. / I'll stay up for a while, if I don't answer right away I probably fell asleep. It's Currently 3am over here.

Looking for beta-readers

Hey guys, I'm looking for some beta-readers for an upcoming LitRPG series.

I've published my debut in Germany already, the feedback was stellar over here and it has been in the Amazon Top10 for the past two weeks since release.

At the moment my lector and I are translating the book into English. The plan is to keep for format close to the German original but still making it enjoyable for english readers.

If you're a quick reader and interested in something new, hit me up. :D

/Repost, there was a typo in the header.

Wer hat Erfahrungen mit Audible?

Moin moin,

Coverart and english translation

Hey guys.
My name is Sebastian Bauer, and I'm the author of the German LitRPG "Runenbruch". The book was released last Saturday and ranked #2 on Amazon's LitRPG bestseller list.

At the moment, I'm working on translating the book from German into English (Runefracture), with the help of my lector. The post is tagged as Promo: Other, because it kinda promotes the book, but I'm here for a discussion or input, if you will.

Hand on heart, I don't have the money or connections to get the book translated into English by a professional translation agency or a publisher. So I was curious if you guys would still read a book translated by someone who isn't a native speaker and tries to mimic the German tone as closely as possible?

It would be available on Kindle Unlimited.

Or would you rather wait for a professional translation, even if that means it takes much longer and the book has to earn money in Germany first to pay for the translation?

Either way, here are some of my step-by-step pictures from creating the artwork for the cover. :D

Ich habe innerhalb von drei Monaten einen Roman geschrieben und veröffentlicht. AMA

Das Projekt begann aus Spite/Trotz, um einem Kollegen zu beweisen, dass man auch ohne GenAI ein gutes Buch in kurzer Zeit schreiben kann.
