It’s pretty early right now, and the record is shaky, but I wouldn’t attribute these shortcomings to Elias. I believe he’s doing what he can. Our pitching core is just gutted with injuries right now.
The rogers trade was heavily criticized but is working out.
The Rodriguez trade was criticized and Ward is playing almost .300 ball..
The Basallo contract is looking incredibly solid right now
Alonso is batting .205 right now, but he’s hitting home runs, and the move was universally praised for the orioles actually willing to spend.
I think given everything, Elias is doing a great job despite the setbacks. Sometimes things just don’t work out in your favor
