I let my mated pair have a real clutch just once. I really wanted to experience raising squabs. I'm soooo happy I did! Meet Goose and Baby! They're so sweet and it's even helping me bond with pretty boy and pound cake, the parents. Yes I'm keeping them forever and ever.
I keep seeing videos on here of people asking if their pigeon is play fighting with them or not. I would just like to share what a real angry pigeon looks like. Pretty boy does not like hands when his wife is laying on the nest with her eggs. And don't worry I don't always go in there and bug him. We have a lovely relationship that I call a sightseeing relationship. I can look at him and that's about it.
Obviously I did the first, but he did them back! I hope I wasn't accidentally challenging him. His name is pretty boy, and his mate there is pound cake.
He's come out off and on over the 5 years, but my poor little rescue bird was always too fearful to come out of the cage. today though... He came out and sat with the other birds and preened himself for a good couple of hours.
