Retroarch crashes when changing games - Nintendo Switch

I use RetroArch a lot, have multiple emulators on it and I am able to play the games normally. But everytime I change from one game to another, even games within the same core, I get the message "the software was closed because an error occurred" and RetroArch shuts down. If I open it again, I can load the games just fine, but it's a pain. Now, I did a lot of research about this and I've tried multiple solutions. None of them have actually worked.

What I've tried so far:

  • Updating system firmware, Atmosphere and RetroArch. Currently running RetroArch 1.21.0, Atmosphere 1.9.4 and system firmware 20.4.0. but the problem has been dragging on from older versions of all the above as well.
  • Choosing "close content" on the quick menu before opening another game. Doesn't work, error stil occurs.
  • Turning on and off the option "Quit on Close Content" on user interface settings. Error still occurs.
  • Changing the "Auto-Shader Delay" option from 0 to 350 on video settings. I don't even use shaders but read somewhere that this could solve the issue. It didn't.
  • I have also tried turning on and off the achievements feature. On my research someone said that it could help, but error also still occurs).

And that's about it I guess. Can someone help me please? Thanks in advance.
