I’m having trouble with BSODs and freezes while playing intensive games
Hello! I’m having a problem where when I play particularly demanding games, such as Marvel rivals, Elden Ring Nightreign, or Cyberpunk 2077, my PC will suddenly freeze completely along with a loud “BRRR”ing or buzzing sound coming through the headphones. Occasionally if left at this screen I will receive the message “your computer has run into an unknown issue and must restart”. Meanwhile games such as Guilty Gear Strive or Street Fighter 6 I can run basically indefinitely with no issue. The games that crash run absolutely perfectly right up until the whole system crashes without ever slowing down or stuttering. I would guess overheating but in the past when I’ve checked it hasn’t seemed too hot, plus I’ve been told overheating would be associated with slowdowns and stutters-meanwhile all I have to do is shut down the PC and reboot it to immediately have the computer working as new again for about 1 hour periods of time, but it’s pretty unpredictable. Do people know what this might be? My googling has only led me to understand “it could be one of like 20 things” and not know where to start.
