Question about caseload as a community social worker

Hi all! I apologize if questions such as this are not allowed and I will remove it if so. I have recently been offered a position under the CCPSW under a community SSA. In the discussion it was mentioned that the case load per social worker is 50-100 is this case load normal?

I have checked with friends who are in this sector and I have also done googling, redditing, Glassdoor along with almost any source of open information and the answers I got is that 50 is usually the cap and it leads to a lot the person who mention feeling like they are just dismissing their beneficiaries to close the case and hit KPI.

The only place I saw in my research which mentioned 100 caseloads are MSWs in one of the bigger gov hospital. but I know healthcare’s workload overall even excluding social workers are really heavy.

I will be bonded for 4 years should I accept the role and is amounting close to $150k which is no small amount so before I sign I do want to get a ground feel if this normal. The company isn’t in Glassdoor so I can’t check reviews by their ex-employees. but I won’t name here but I am ok to DM if needed.

So just want to check for those who are existing SW or SWA is 50-100 caseload normal for community care and if so how much time do social workers usually dedicate to each beneficiary’s case?

Thank you all for the help!

Question about WSG bond and protection for bonded employees

Hi all! Sorry if this is not allowed as it is my first post here after lurking for years, but decided to ask in case I missed something. Recently, I was offered a work-study bond in a GLC but I thought of a strange interview question that was asked and it was ‘if I would be ok if I had x amount of workload per month?’

Initially, I thought the number presented was pretty realistic but tough. I did my research after the interview by searching similar roles online and with friends who are holding similar jobs positions and they mentioned the X amount mentioned is 3x what the average person does for a similar role and one of them mentioned that with the tasks having a fixed down time or running time it’s mathematically not possible to hit the kpi even if you work non-stop 24 hours a day. So, I was thinking since the bond is paid to the company are there any protections in place for employees to maybe dispute the bond if in the event they are dismissed for mathematically impossible KPIs and if not why don’t every company actually do this since I assume the penalty is paid to the company directly? Thanks all for the help!

Question about interviews for those who were accepted for the ccpsw

Hi all! Just managed to get my offer email from SUSS and I assume everyone else who applied for the program probably did as well or have received it earlier this week.

I didn’t manage to get any of mine and It was the same for my friend who got the email about Monday this week but was also not offered interview by any of her picked SSAs.

Just wanted to check did anyone managed to get contacted by the SSAs or organizations that you put as your 3 choices for interviews? Thanks all for the help and for those who are ongoing interviews good luck!

Hi all! Recently just finished the legends of the dark angels and legacy of caliban omnibus and personally I felt it was great overall. But I would be lying if I said there were points that I struggled through despite the stories just being between C Z Dunn and Gav thrope.

I personally found gav thrope to be really inconsistent. I got into this because I read angels of caliban and really liked the interactions between characters despite the story taking place on both ultramar and Caliban at the same time and dealt with a huge cast from both side

But then I started the book ‘azrael’ and ‘purging of Kalidus’ and it felt so different characters almost just literally talk to themselves in inner monologues and in the event and both books i am not sure how it plays into the bigger picture but in purging of kalidus defence >!apparently the teleporta is going to be a huge focus in the return of yarrick book and 11th edition so it somehow got plot relevance?!< but then I got to ‘angels of darkness’ and the legacy trilogy and it was great back to angels of caliban quality

I don’t think I read any writer quite as inconsistent as gav thrope and I read quite a number
