Question about caseload as a community social worker
Hi all! I apologize if questions such as this are not allowed and I will remove it if so. I have recently been offered a position under the CCPSW under a community SSA. In the discussion it was mentioned that the case load per social worker is 50-100 is this case load normal?
I have checked with friends who are in this sector and I have also done googling, redditing, Glassdoor along with almost any source of open information and the answers I got is that 50 is usually the cap and it leads to a lot the person who mention feeling like they are just dismissing their beneficiaries to close the case and hit KPI.
The only place I saw in my research which mentioned 100 caseloads are MSWs in one of the bigger gov hospital. but I know healthcare’s workload overall even excluding social workers are really heavy.
I will be bonded for 4 years should I accept the role and is amounting close to $150k which is no small amount so before I sign I do want to get a ground feel if this normal. The company isn’t in Glassdoor so I can’t check reviews by their ex-employees. but I won’t name here but I am ok to DM if needed.
So just want to check for those who are existing SW or SWA is 50-100 caseload normal for community care and if so how much time do social workers usually dedicate to each beneficiary’s case?
Thank you all for the help!
