Warranty Parts

I bought a house with a two year old Carrier heat pump and furnace. We also have nat gas for the winter, and when we switched back to cool for the summer the outdoor unit isn’t switching on.

It’s throwing off an error code for communications error, but the repair man thinks it might be the main board. The unit is under warranty, but apparently to get the part to Canada might take more than three months!?

Is this normal, or should I escalate? Not having A/C for the entire summer seems ridiculous.
