Leveling spacer "removal"

I've got this 2012 Sierra with some of those cheap polymer leveling spacers under the struts that are throwing off my alignment.

I wanted to pull those out since I'm going to get smaller tires and don't need the truck so high anymore, but I also wanted to bust it out quickly. These tires need replacing anyway, so I'll align it once I bring down the front and get new tires.

Has anyone ever lifted the front, loosened the struts and just broken those polymer blocks out with a hammer and a punch or chisel? I wouldn't do it with the spacers under compression, obviously, but I also want to get it done quickly.

Here's my Rockhopper. I couldn't find what year it was specifically, because there's no serial on the BB or anywhere on the frame really.

I bought it for $30 from a thrift store and it was dirty, with oxidized factory components, crumbling tires, and a chain that was more rust than chain. Very neglected. She still has some surface rust spots on the frame, I wanted to get it rideable and working before finding a matching paint and retouching the rusty spots.

Replaced the chain with a no-name gold chain. Tuned up the bike's brakes, installed some no-name levers I had laying around and cleaned her up and installed some Bell tires.

I replaced the quill with an Origin8 stem adapter, replaced the flat bars with some low-profile GT BMX bars. Replaced the grip shifters with Shimano trigger shifters. For grips, I use my all-time favorite Cult x Vans shifters. I slap those on everything. The tires will eventually be replaced with slick BMX/street tires.

I wanted to build this as a general purpose, fun and easy to ride bike. It's my first real project, and they're easy repairs but I'm proud of my work.
