First Small Log Cabin Build — Questions About Green 4x6 Logs

I’m in northern NJ and planning to build a few small log cabins, around 8x12, using 4x6 pine or hemlock that I’ll mill myself. I’m pretty set on using dovetail corners and stacking the logs tight with no gaps.
I also plan on chamfering the edges. I saw a guy on YouTube add a small drip kerf on the underside of the outside edge with a shallow circular saw pass to help keep water from getting pulled into the joint.

Curious if anyone here has done something similar.
My biggest question is shrinkage/settling since I’ll likely be building with green lumber. How do you guys handle doors and windows so the logs can shrink without causing problems? And if the logs are stacked tight, is there anything I should be doing between courses?

Some of these may eventually become small saunas, but right now I’m mostly trying to get the log construction right. Would appreciate any advice or photos from anyone who’s built this way.

Thoughts on My Log Sauna Design

Hello!

I’ve been working on the design for a traditional Scandinavian-inspired log sauna and would really appreciate some honest feedback before I start milling logs.

The plan is to build an 8×12 wood-fired sauna using 4×6 hemlock logs with dovetail corners. The images are concept renders I’ve been creating to work through the design before I begin building.
My goal is to build something that feels handcrafted, traditional, and built to last—not a luxury spa or a kit sauna. If everything goes well, I’d eventually like to turn this into a small business building custom log saunas.

A quick note: the interior render isn’t 100% accurate. The upper bench on the left will actually be built higher so your feet are at or above the level of the sauna stones, and the single bench on the right will also sit higher than shown. I’m still refining the interior layout.

A few questions for those with more sauna experience:

Does anything about the design stand out as something you’d change?
Are there any features you’d add or remove?
If this were built with quality materials and craftsmanship, what do you think would be a fair selling price?
At what price would it start to feel overpriced, and what features would justify a higher price?

One thing I know will probably be controversial: I realize a traditional Finnish sauna would normally have a lower flat ceiling. I chose a vaulted ceiling with a skylight because I really love the open feeling and natural light it creates. I know that’s often frowned upon from a performance standpoint, so I’d genuinely love to hear your thoughts. Would you stick with a traditional flat ceiling, or is there a way to make this design work well while keeping the vaulted look?

I have experience with woodworking, some sawmill experience and built my sauna. I’m looking for honest feedback and constructive criticism, so don’t hold back. I’d much rather improve the design now than after I start cutting logs.
Thanks!

Making dawless, beatless, asynchronous ambient music

Hello everyone! I have a pretty established ambient pedalboard for my guitar and bass and recently acquired a Torso s4 and Tonverk over the past year that I am SLOWLY leaning. My goal is to fill out the rest of my intended sounds with these. For some reason I am not a fan of using a laptop to create these sounds. I do have/love my piano, cello viola sounds from Felt Instruments VST’s and was hoping to multi sample them into the Tonverk and use the S4 to play field recordings and granular awesomeness. Is this the right approach? I also saw the Push 3 recently and thought wow that could do all of what I am after but I don’t want to go down another rabbit hole only to be exactly where I am now. The music/bands I like and sound similar too are Good Weather for an Airstrike, Riceboy Sleeps, Beneath the Mountain and the Goodnight Project etc. any help or suggestions or guidance would be immensely appreciated!!

Ambient musicians? (Need help with my sound)

Does anyone use their Torso for ambient music? There are a lot of types of sound that fall under ambient, but I’m not referring to the techno minimalist beats ambient but instead more along the lines of bands like Riceboy Sleeps, Rhucle, Be Still the Earth,Sonant, Hatsu etc. A loser more organic sound/approach. I have a pretty solid ambient pedalboard for my guitar/bass but want to fill my sound with the Torso and my Toneverk which I’m still in the beginning learning phases. I also have most of the Felt VST instruments and would love to take those sounds out of my daw and into the Toneverk (via multi sampling)

Tonverk Beginner Ambient

Hello everyone! I am new to this group as well as my Toneverk and wanted to know if anybody can recommend of youtube video series that breaks down how to use it… a lot of videos I see don’t start at the very beginning and seem more advanced so I need something that is very basic. Besides the manual I do have experience with synth/samplers and I play ambient guitar and I also have the torso S4 and I’m learning that as well, so I just need to learn this in small digestible chunks.

E Commerce AI

Hey Guys, I’ve been working with a few different AI models and none of them work really that well they’re good but they don’t really hold the details that I need but they are good enough for now. Basically I am trying to use a company‘s vendor/assets, i.e. per bottle on a white background dress on the white background and then place that product and multitude different environments would be tabletops the life for model on a beach model holding the perfume bottle, etc. what would be the best approach to reduce drift and keeping the elements of that particular asset consistent?
