A mother black bear and her three cubs spent part of their Fourth of July night moving through my yard in Asheville, North Carolina, and the security cameras caught the whole backyard scene from multiple angles.
On the hottest day of the year, just before noon, a mother black bear and her three cubs passed through an Asheville, North Carolina yard during the mid-90s July heat.
The footage was captured across multiple security cameras and cell phone video. The family first appeared on the front camera, where the mother bear passed extremely close to the lens in bright sunlight before the bears made their way through the property.
I was sitting on the back deck looking at my phone when I noticed movement out of the corner of my eye. My security camera alerts had been silenced, so I did not realize the bears were already nearby until they were in the yard.
Captured from a passenger window during takeoff, this footage provides an unusually detailed look at airport operations, aircraft movement, taxiways, runway markings, and the busy environment surrounding one of America's most recognizable airports.
As the aircraft makes its way toward departure, the slow-motion footage reveals details often missed at normal speed including the rumbling sound from the engines and seeing the other aircraft waiting their turn to the constant activity that keeps the airport moving.
Unlike a time-lapse or hyperlapse, this is true slow-motion footage, allowing viewers to observe the scene as it unfolds with a level of detail rarely seen during a routine takeoff.
