It is sad when even the Pelicans have a drinking problem
Bears’ Fourth of July Picnic in Asheville
A mother black bear and her three cubs spent part of their Fourth of July night moving through my yard in Asheville, North Carolina, and the security cameras caught the whole backyard scene from multiple angles.
Neighbor feeding crows- droppings covering my car, entry and yard
New to Portland and just bought a house. The neighbor on the hill in front of my house feeds the crows whole peanuts in her back yard. The crows immediately fly over my car, drive and house loosing fecal explosions EVERYWHERE - on my car, entryway, windows etc. it’s impossible to park anywhere else out of range unless I abandon parking on or near my property. I’m finding whole in the shell peanuts in my backyard because they fly over the house to the tall trees in the back. The peanuts are in the flowerpots on my deck and in my gutters. The crows also have gotten into the trash on trash morning requiring me to clean it up twice. There are also Raccoons being fed. Another neighbor has supposedly been been putting poison out and killed an adult Raccoon. Obviously I moved into an ongoing struggle in the neighborhood over this overfeeding of wildlife.
I am not against feeding the birds but this goes beyond feeding and is creating a noxious nuisance. Birds and raccoons carry diseases and the excess food draws rats, mice and other disease carriers.
What do I do? I haven’t been here long and hate to get into it with a neighbor but this situation has to change.
Is there any kind of service that I can contact? Does the City have a service that I can contact about this? I’m afraid that if I say anything directly it will just get worse. I’ve thought about talking to them but my first introduction was less than pleasant- I was informed I needed their permission for “this, that and the other” as well as they can look into my bedroom window when it’s open followed by suggestions on making it harder to look into. In some ways I feel like the situation already intensified because I did already have a conversation with them- because negative attention is attention so I don’t want to get sucked into that.
Suggestions welcome.
Okay but can I pet that daaaawwg?
A groundhog named Chunk has been stealing a Deleware farmer’s crops for four years and would always eat them infront of the camera…
Best date night plan. Would smell fishy but would be worth it. 😂
Weasels in Manchester?
Crazy to randomly come across weasels in Manchester City centre considering they are naturally very rare to be spotted in the wild!

Nubian Ibex Mitzpe Ramon, Israel
The Nubian Ibex (Capra nubiana) is a fascinating species of wild goat found in the arid regions of northeastern Africa and the Middle East. These agile and sure-footed animals have adapted to life in rocky mountainous terrains, using their sharp hooves to traverse steep cliffs with ease. They possess distinct curved horns, both in males and females, though the male's horns are larger and more impressive. Nubian Ibexes are herbivores, feeding on a variety of plants and shrubs to sustain themselves in their harsh habitats. Sadly, they face threats like habitat loss and hunting, making conservation efforts crucial to preserving their population.
Only in Florida can a Gator be treated like a dog. 😂
In Florida, police work and gator wrangling seemingly go hand-in-hand. Just another day on the job in the Sunshine State.
Advice about campground stray.
We’ve been staying at a campground for about a year. And we are leaving at next month.
This is little cat , we call her LC “Elsie”.
When we first got here, she was no contact with any human, skittish, patchy, underweight and living off the local wildlife.
We have been feeding her dry food and fresh water for about ten months.
We’ve gained her trust.
She greets us when she sees us come home from work, and every time we take our dog out. She’s gone from being a little scaredy cat to a cozy little sun sleeper.
We’ve built this bond with her and now we are leaving.
We’ve decided to not take her with us. These are our reasons:
1). She’s lived here her whole life, she’s est 10yo.
2). She’s safe here, far away from cars that go fast, lots of shelters from the weather under RVs and in and around the maintenance buildings within 30 yards of where we’ve been staying.
3). One of the long term work campers has agreed to take the torch of feeding/watering, and petting her.
4). We are moving into a neighborhood house. With a fenced backyard but there’s not shelter for her back there.
5). We have 4 indoor animals that would not mesh trying to bring a semi feral stray into the mix.
6). She doesn’t seem interested in being inside; we’ve given her the opportunity to come inside many times.
7). We interact with her maybe 30 seconds at a time, 2-5 times a day.
TLDR : we feel this campground is her home and she is happiest here, safest here. I just feel guilty building this bond with this creature and to just leave and never come back feels bad…
