Is it worth it to apply to ncm with a lower gpa but high test scores?

Hi everyone!! So I have been debating on whether or not I should apply to questbridge NCM for like 2 months, I do qualify financially but I don't think I fit their academic standards. My weighted GPA is a 92/100 and that's from all the classes I have taken, my school does it on the 100 scale so like I've had high 90s in some classes but then 85s in other classes. 85 is the lowest grade I have ever received and I do have some of those.

The only circumstance I have is that I've had multiple surgeries from freshman to junior year which has caused a weird trend in my grades (like whenever I do get surgery my grades just plummet). My test scores are good though, as have a 1590 on my sat and a 35 on my act.

But honestly my school is a public magnet in NYC so like I don't even compare to most of my peers. I'm not sure if I should apply because my gpa honestly sucks and my school is pretty competitive.

Should I put a silly Roblox game with 3 million visits as an ec

I have a Roblox game which has accumulated well over 3 million visits but the thing is it’s called farting simulator… I wasn’t gonna put it at first cause I thought it would make me look bad but my friends have told me that I could change the name to something less immature like “cake making simulator” but then wouldn’t I have to change the whole game? Also would AOs fact check Roblox games by playing them..

Is it worth it to apply to ivies with a low gpa?

Hello! So, for context, my gpa at the moment is 93/100 weighted (my school does it on the 100 scale), I’ve taken 6 APs+ 4 more next year and most of my grades (ones lower than a 90) were from freshman year. The only circumstance I had was that I had 5 surgeries throughout the course of freshman to junior year, so I was absent a lot and missed a bunch of important assignments. I have a good sat score (1560), and for the AP exams I have gotten the score for, I got all 5s. My school is competitive (like 15-20 people get accepted to Cornell each year alone, and that’s not including other top schools), over average sat is around the high 1300s and I don’t know about the average GPA. I do know that I’m not in the top 10% of my class, since most people there have a gpa of 98+. I’ve talked to my counselor about it, and she said that there’s no real gpa threshold for ivies and it doesn’t hurt to apply. I’m still not sure though, I don’t want to apply somewhere if I know I don’t even meet the bare minimum standards. Should I just shoot my shot regardless?

How to explain extenuating circumstances?

Hey guys, so I’ve had 5 surgeries since freshman year and because of that my gpas tanked to a 93/100 cumulative (weighted + my school does it on the 100 scale), for freshman, sophomore and junior year. I was planning to explain the circumstances around my surgery but what happened was I fell on my butt cheeks really hard my freshman year and I got pretty badly injured from that 😭. I really don’t want to explain the fact I fell on my butt cheeks because I think it’s embarrassing but I feel like I have to if I’m including the circumstances around my surgeries. For more context, I have a 1560 on the SAT, took 10 AP courses in total (including senior year),
have gotten 5s on all of the exams I’ve taken so far (taken 2 exams, waiting for 4, taking 4 senior year), and have been showing an upward trend with my gpa (my junior year gpa was a 97. I’m worried that my gpa is too low and I’ve even considered not including the surgeries because then id have to explain the surgery. How do I explain the fact that I fell on my butt cheeks without making it weird, like should I say I fell on my gluteus maximus or something…

Is Princeton review accurate?

Okay, I know this is very late to ask this, but I signed up for AP psychology in the beginning of the year and haven’t even started studying until 2 days ago. I brought the Princeton review book and I did their diagnostic but I got a 57/75 which seemed a little high, the questions weren’t really vocab based they were more like giving situations and understanding from there. From what I heard AP pysch is huge on vocab but I didn’t really see any vocab on that, and also the concepts felt like “common sense” in a way, I know college board changed the AP pysch curriculum but I’m still quite unsure. Is the Princeton review book a good representation of AP questions?
