S10- Hamptons Showdown Jackie vs Jennifer

Doing a rewatch and I was watching where Jackie invited them all to the Hamptons to try to get the group to bond & make peace. I’m dying to talk about the birthday party debate.

Jackie was far from my fave but there are things I think she said that made sense. In the fight over the kids birthday parties imo Jackie was right and Jennifer was being an a-hole. Ngl I think Jennifer is an ahole a lot lol but here I just think she was wrong.

Jackie was doing the party FOR HER KIDS. Not for the adults - not to impress anyone. Jennifer wasn’t doing the party for her kids. Jennifer was doing it to make herself look good. It was a “hey look at me and how much money we have and what we can buy”. I doubt her kids even had an opinion in what the party was going to entail.

I actually thought it was rather disgusting how Jennifer wanted to act like it was a competition. Like why crap all over Jackie not wanting to throw a gala for a 11 yr olds birthday? I agree with jackie it’s no about whether you have the money - it’s what you choose to do and there was no reason for Jennifer to talk down about it. Plus you do these huge ordeals and then each year you’re scrambling trying to top the previous year. Kids don’t need that.

Also it was around this time that Jennifer talked about her daughter being bullied - it made me wonder if the parties were a way of trying to buy her kids friends? I would hope not but idk. Jennifer was new money and she seemed to think money solved everything.

She was obsessed! It was actually gross how she was almost panting when she found out how wealthy Jackie was. And the questions she ask - no shame. So ick.

So that’s my take- what about y’all??

Rewatch S9

Good Lord Luann is hard to take this season. Her utter smugness about Tom, the comments she makes - it all leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

“I didn’t cut in line to get him. I just got in the line and it was my turn” like WHAT?! I don’t get what it was about this guy. Plus I wouldn’t want a guy who had been with 2 of my friends

She seems less like a woman madly in love and more like a woman thrilled to have won a prize she can hold over her friend’s heads. It’s almost obsessive.

Her attitude makes it REALLY hard to feel bad for her for what’s about to come. Especially since she can’t say she wasn’t warned.

Question - would you attend Luann’s party in the city that she threw for herself & Tom if you hadn’t been invited to the wedding?

Ok this might get me downvoted to oblivion but here goes…

As I’ve been rewatching the old seasons I feel like Kim plays a perpetual victim & I find it a little annoying.

Like there’s no winning with her. She acts so crazy & erratic a good part of the time so ofc people are concerned with her sobriety. Then she gets upset and feels everyone’s questioning her and they don’t believe her.

But then if she’s struggling and no one says anything then she’s crying that no one cares and no one reaches out to her.

There’s one thing that drives me crazy tho! She’ll start an argument that has absolutely no merit. So then she’ll start crying and saying she can’t deal with all the arguing. 🤦🏼‍♀️
