Theresa asking Dolores and Jenn Aydin to be her bridesmaid

I’m on season 13 ep 4 and this episode Theresa asks Jennifer Aydin and Dolores to be her braided maid. And I’m side eyeing it so hard like. It’s 4 weeks before your wedding and you are just now asking them to be your bridesmaids? Like the timing is just so convenient. I don’t think she really wanted them to be in her wedding i think if she did they would have been asked at the beginning or a lot sooner. I also think Theresa just asked Jennifer to be spiteful to Melissa.

Theresa treats Dolores horribly if you ask me. She didn’t invite her to the engagement party and Dolores gets a last minute invitation to be a bridesmaid.

Does RHONJ not do yearly international cast trips?

I don’t know if I’m just not paying attention but I’ve noticed that the rhonj doesn’t do like annual international cast trips. I know they’ve done some international trips like i think they went to Milan, i know they’ve went to Italy earlier in the seasons, and they went somewhere international when Margret threw wine on Danielle staub and on the season I’m currently on they are going to Ireland. But like do they not an international cast trip every season like Atlanta or Orange County. I think majority of there trips have been like within the United States and they do a lot of trips to the Jersey shore.

Finishing S4 and I have to ask: are people in New Jersey ACTUALLY like this??

I'm wrapping up Season 4 and honestly the only thought running through my head is: is this real? Is this what New Jersey is actually like, or is this a Real Housewives thing?

For context, I'm European (southern European, specifically), so a lot of this is fascinating to me. The cast right now is basically just two families, and I cannot get over the whole "half-half, I'm Italian, no, I'M Italian" thing. The way being Italian seems to be someone's ENTIRE personality. The way it becomes a genuine offense if you question it. The intense commitment to eating only Italian food and flying the Italian flag at all times.

And here's the thing — I'm from southern Europe too, and family is a huge priority where I'm from, so I get that part. But over here it comes across less "close-knit family" and more... mafia? Like, they themselves seem to “want” to be called that. I'm flabbergasted.

So genuinely: is everyone in New Jersey like this, or is this an exclusively Real Housewives phenomenon? I need someone to explain the Jersey Italian-American experience to me because I have so many questions and no frame of reference.

I forgot how WILD season 6 was

Besides the obvious chaos of Teresa and Joe’s sentencing, we were also blessed with the most insane couple imaginable. I cannot help but die laughing every time I see that scene because it was such a juvenile thing for him to say, but there was actual context behind it, so they all had to act serious while you could tell every single person was trying not to laugh 😂

Between the Amber fight in the basement that ended with Jim calling Gorga a dumb f*ck, that horrid mortgage commercial, and Amber’s performance when Melissa said she didn’t know about the cancer… this couple was reality TV gold. And the fact that they doubled down at the reunion somehow made it even better. Then we randomly get Victoria Gotti appearing out of absolutely nowhere to expose Rino’s affair with the mother. Also, Melissa absolutely seemed like she was on benzos that entire season. But at least we got Dina back, and she’s always been day one for me.

Did anybody watch the “Teresa Checks In” episodes after season 6? I’m just now watching them, and honestly, my heart breaks for Gia. That girl went through so much before she even turned 18, and those episodes make it even more obvious. Having to keep the secret that her mom was actually in prison while telling her sisters she was “away at work” had to be incredibly damaging. Watching Teresa miss Joe’s father’s memorial and Gia’s 8th grade dance (which btw, her date looked like a full grown 20 yr old man 😭) was honestly sad. The scene where Teresa’s father just walks away from the phone call while Gia is crying genuinely broke my heart. You can really see how hurt he is. Gia having to step up and basically be the mother and having to discipline the sisters really seems like it robbed her of a lot of her teenage years.

Also, Teresa absolutely should’ve turned the diary she sent to her attorney into a book. If she already did and I somehow missed it, please tell me because I would 100% read it!

S12: I knew Teresa was unhinged, but I didn't know she had the capacity to become MORE unhinged

RANT!!!

I just finished season 12, and honestly, I want to jump inside the TV and flip a table on her (that's putting it lightly).

Genuinely, what the actual hell is wrong with her? What is the obsession with blaming Marge for everything?

Side note: I've already seen The Last Supper S14, so I know who was actually in contact with Luis' ex.

BUT, whyyyyyyy is it always Marge? I absolutely adore Marge. Even the last episode of S14, she finds out who it was and that they lied, and she STILL blame Marge. MAKE IT MAKE SENSE!!!!

Other than that, why doesn't Teresa EVER listen? EVEEEEEER. She is such a freaking gaslighter. Putting Joe Gorga down and then doubling down that she "swears" she wasn't putting him down. Then the douchebag forgives her.

I mean, how many times can someone tell you who they are before you cut them off? Family or not. She is freaking insane and I can't handle her.

Her and red lobster are made for each other. There's pebbles between those ears.

Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

I'm watching RHONJ for the first time S4E2

I relate to Lauren so much! She is my age, grew up in an Italian family, and had struggled with her weight. She looks amazing now. I pray that she sees how beautiful she looks now and doesn't see herself altered. I know so many millennials have body dysmorphia due to all of the fat shaming during the 00s.

Milanias freshman year

Does anyone remember when Milania talked about having a fall out with her freshman roommates ? It seems they are all friends and Milania isn’t with any of them. Curious to hear their stories 👀

Jackie and Jennifer

Jackie and Jennifer Carroll from Top Chef Season 6 have the same way of moving their mouths and that sort of "internal" lisp. I can't watch either of them because it bothers me so much. I can only compare it to people chewing with their mouths open. Is anyone else bothered by this?

Decided to rewatch Season 1 during the heatwave.

So knowing what happens in the later seasons, I think that this has to be my favorite season. It seems to be the only season where every is authentic and real. Even Danielle is somewhat normal. I always said Theresa looked her best in this season (and sounded her best in terms of her voice. What the hell happened with that!) However, I forgot how pretty Danielle was before she started having all the work done. I wish these women would look back on these earlier seasons and realize how good they actually all look. Even Jacqueline looked awesome as well. Had all of them left well enough alone, I think they would have all aged beautifully.

S3 E13 opinions on Ashley

Quick context before I get into it: I'm European and have zero connection to the American background these people come from, so a lot of the way they relate to each other genuinely goes over my head. This is also my first time watching this specific franchise. I've seen other Real Housewives franchises before, but Jersey is new to me, and the family dynamics here feel like a different animal.

Anyway, I'm on Season 3, Episode 14, and I need to talk about Ashley. What's the general consensus on her?

I've been trying to figure her out since Season 1. I was honestly bracing for the worst — like maybe there was some really complicated relationship with her dad that would explain the attitude. But then this episode shows her dad, and her dad's girlfriend, and they seem like completely normal, civil people who support her. Same with her other parents. If anything, my read is that they all indulge her a bit more than she deserves given how she treats them in return.

So that's where I'm stuck. I feel awful for all of her parents, but at the same time I can't help feeling a little sorry for her too. I can't fully explain why.

A few questions for people who've been through the whole show:
- Does she get better over the seasons?
- Is there context I'm missing that explains why she is the way she is?
- Am I being too hard on her, or too soft?

Would love to hear what longtime viewers think.
