Won a cultural victory on deity huge map. Still did the old Confucius/Han-Ming-Qing play through and will try the time tested civs later. Definitely the hardest civ7 (you could include civ6) game I have ever played, for I really had to exhaust the modern civic tree and hard build 8 modern wonders, and even those were not enough until the victory ratio became 1.5x. And this was happening when all those great walls were generating tourism.

Players are losing two edges after the patch now. One is city state bonus, which becomes harder to obtain due to the increased diplo cost. The other is the path reward at the beginning of each era. Triumphs took its role, but three of them are just not enough. My take is that we should have a way to use more than three major triumphs, and minor triumphs should be easier to obtain (especially in antiquity, where you can only get minor triumphs when the era is almost over) and a bit more rewarding.

I appreciate most other changes. All victories allow more interaction and strategies. For instance, some science path targets may help the economic victory. And in my game, there was a military major triumph that gave tourism to all defense buildings including both great walls. The modern era now really needs to be thoroughly explored as well, and many late game techs and civics matter.

Still, this current game version could use some more rewards on the players.

Played as Austria with the new DLC activated. Went for the Danube faction route and had Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, Greece, and Turkey all in my faction before 1938.6. But in the end of 1938, Czechoslovakia still yielded Sudetenland to Germany and Munich Agreement fired. Then they broke into three pieces and got consumed by Germany as what would happen without interference.

I remember before the DLC, I should be able to refuse Germany's request and Germany would declare war on my faction. It might be a bug in the new DLC. Czechoslovakia is not supposed to fall back if in a faction right?
