I haven't played DoT since the book has been out so I haven't had a chance to play test anything yet, but I've got a potential game lined up so I have been experimenting with my list building. But I'm not sure how effective anything is, especially which combinations of units so I just want to talk about how has everyone been using everything? Which units have good warscrolls regardless of points cost? What are the best screens? How is the faction terrain and Fatemaster? How are the newer horror rules? What unit is yoir favourite? Etc etc etc

Or just tell me about a unit you really like using :)

Are there any AoS leagues or PtG campaigns in Berlin that anyone can recommend? Or even just someone to play with casually would be great.

I'm about to start building a Thousand Sons army too and it might be another couple of months before I can play but it would still be good to know about anything for 40k as well.

I'm thinking about recollecting S2D in the future to build a tzeentch themed army (gaunt summoners, MVB, lots of spells etc) so i was looking at the RoRs to see what could work...

Having daemons and extra manifestations seems fitting so I checked out Coven of Thryx again, but it seems mostly redundant. There are no weapons that have the wyrdflame ability anymore so the flickering wydflame ability only works for the Bolt of Tzeentch spell.

The Magister's abilities are both useless outside of DoT as they are tied to the army's rules.

The tome of eyes - would this give the magister access to DoT's spells while playing in Slaves?

Yo yo I'm sure these kinds of questions get asked a lot but I can't find the specific answers I need and would like some clarification on other things.

As the title says, I want to try and build a 40k army (was going to do Sororitas but 1k sons will make things cheaper in the short term) and need to figure out which of my AoS units are viable.

As far as I can tell, tzaangor units are only any good in the mutant detachment (Warpmeld Sacrifice), and daemons are only able to be taken in the Scintillating Legions detachment (Changehost of Deceit) - but at least 500 points of the list has to be made up of non-SL units, is that correct?

My other questions are:

Are tzaangors viable outside their mutant detachment to fill other roles?

Should I get more tzaangors to arm them with auto pistols and chainswords, or are the blades okay?

Which non-SL units work well alongside daemons?

With the units i already have in mind, which other units will make a good addition to start building 1-2k lists? I'd like to try and avoid getting more named characters, but other than that there isn't much in the roster that doesn't tickle my fancy.

My 40k-able AoS units:

30 x pink horrors

30 x blue & brim horrors

6 x flamers

1 x spawn

3 x flamers

30 x tzaangors with blades

6 x enlightened

6 x enlightened with bows

Tzaangor shaman

Kairos

Lord of change

Bonus if i can proxy my curseling or magister on disc as anything as well (32mm and 50mm bases)

I (31m) moved to Germany from Australia a few days ago and am currently living with a friend in Mannheim for now before I move cities. I was wondering how easy it is to find people to play AoS with here, and/or if anyone would be keen to play a game sometime in the next couple of weeks?

I haven't played since september last year because I've been travelling, but I brought one of my armies across the world with me and I am just waiting for my new battletome and faction terrain to arrive from fantasy welt, so I might be a little rusty but I'm ready to jump back in!
