Pros and Cons of HVAC

Been stuck on this idea for the past few months since a conversation with a technician, and I feel that I need more before I take a leap into pursuing this field of work plus schooling and everything.

What is good about working in HVAC? Residential or commercial, benefits

What are the very bad aspects of HVAC work?

Daily struggles, long term negatives

Any insight is helpful. Live in the Midwest if that offers any more perspective on my situation.

Mechanic vs HVAC Technician

I'm 24. I was thinking of going back to school to pursue either mechanic work or HVAC work. I initially thought of electrician technician, but then I thought about high voltage dangers, and I can't do the sewer smell of plumbing. Of course I could ai this answer, but nothing beats real insight from real mechanics and HVAC workers. I really wanted to know about the pay, the pay increases per year, how you get paid, what is the work schedule, is your company good and are most companies similar, what was the pipeline between schooling and job acquisition, was your schooling covered through grants and scholarships, how do you become noticed to be hired or do companies reach out to you, is it better money to work for a company or work for yourself and open a shop, what is the life of a mechanic like versus an HVAC technician, what are the dangers of both, plus anything else anyone could add on. I know this is loaded, but I want to ensure I'm at least informed before I pursue this.
