Absent Contractility after Nissen Fundoplication

36M. I had a 360° Nissen fundoplication in 2015.1 never had an esophageal manometry before the surgery.

In October 2024, I had my first manometry, which showed 80% failed swallows and 20% weak contractions. I repeated the test 1 week ago, and unfortunately it now shows absent contractility with 100% failed swallows.

My main symptom is a constant heartburn sensation that l've been dealing with for the past four years.

I'm honestly terrified. Some doctors have told me that, I may need to have my esophagus removed Ever since hearing that, I've been living in constant fear.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Can absent contractility continue to worsen over time, or lead to serious complications?
