There’s only one way left for Jimmy in Season 4

If we get season 4 and Jimmy and Kara remain friends, then there’s only one real love interest left as an option for Jimmy. He’s currently dating her in the comics and she’s in the show.

Siobhan getting a small character arc and reforming along with Intergang through Jimmy’s help would be a risk but I think could pay off nicely if done well. Jimmy using the failures he went through in season 3 could really be meaningful to not only help someone else be better but also gain him a new love interest because he himself learned to truly be better.

The main problems with this are that Jimmy would have to hop off the ship he has with Kara that was built and dismantled over the course of about 2 seasons, so there would be obvious backlash from fans. There would be the possible jealousy aspect from Kara’s (or even Siobhan’s) side to deal with and then there’s what to do to incorporate Siobhan into the main group if she and Jimmy get together. Siobhan herself is not a very popular character or a main one so she’d have to work from the ground up. It would be an extremely controversial decision if ever made.

I think the main thing I would like to see from this hypothetical scenario is Jimmy teaching Siobhan that it’s better to gain respect through helping others and references Superman and Supergirl and all they do to help people. It would also be nice to see Clark being a sort of role model/big brother figure to Siobhan and Intergang.

Augus stabs Asura with a really long sword

Near the end of the Asura vs. Augus boss fights in Asura’s Wrath, Augus uses his sword Wailing Dark to take Asura from the moon all the way back to Gaea (Earth).

After the sword stabs through Asura on the ground, it exits the other side of Gaea after a few seconds. We then see the impact of the exit point causing an extreme amount of lava to be expelled hundreds of kilometers into the atmosphere and escape into space.

How far did the lava escape into atmosphere and how fast was it? How much energy was produced from that impact?

How tall was the tower Asura and Yasha fell from during their final fight’s flashback?

I was watching the Fall movie (2022) the other day and it’s crazy to see how much closer in perspective just 2000 feet high is in height. Then you have Asura and Yasha falling for what seems like a couple minutes. Are there any estimations on how far they fell or how tall the tower is?

The Finger Lifting Challenge

The goal is to find a character, if any (and doesn’t have to be the most powerful), in each of the listed verses that can halt, fully lift up, then hold Gongen Wyzen’s finger as he’s pushing down for 10 seconds. Extra points for creativity (we know The Presence can lift Wyzen’s finger lol).

Conditions: They are allowed all their powers to assist as long as they don’t affect or change the weight and speed of Wyzen’s finger. An example would be a hax that reduce Wyzen’s finger weight to that of a feather (wouldn’t really be a lifting challenge then) or just transforming his finger into something else entirely. They also cannot/don’t have to harm or kill Wyzen, they just have to lift the finger.

Bonus round if a character can lift the finger: Conditions are the same except Wyzen is fully bloodlusted and goes for a full-power punch instead.

Verses:

My Hero Academia

Jujutsu Kaisen

Dragon Ball

Fairy Tail

There are a lot of planet busting feats in fiction but what about star busting?

No galaxy, no universal, no bullshit, just popping stars like balloons onscreen.

At what point does one consider ludonarrative dissonance too much for video game characters?

Basically, when does the gap between “lore” and gameplay/cutscenes/narrative become too much for someone to suspend their disbelief for how truly strong a video game character is?

The example I’m using is what happens when the gap is basically as small as possible. Asura’s Wrath is extremely tight when it comes to bridging together how strong a character is in gameplay, cutscene, and narrative. Yes, there are QTEs but there are also cutscenes and gameplay segments (though admittedly not the best) where the player can maneuver Asura around to dodge obvious FTL beams from Gohma Vlitra as well as hurt serpent-like heads as large as continents. Funnily enough, the AW lore isn’t that too complex but the gameplay/cutscenes does mostly match up to what actually happens in the lore. The simplest example would be the in-game encyclopedia stating Gongen Wyzen is the size of a planet which in the cutscenes, he clearly is.

On the other hand, there are plenty of video game characters (who will not be named but you can guess) whose lore are so insanely crazy or over the top, you wonder how there even is a game or even a story if they were even remotely a fraction of how strong they are stated to be. This is not even bringing in anti-feats (having a few or some is fine imo) but it gets to a point where characters’ lore are so far removed from what they are shown to do that their entire game becomes an anti-feat on its own.

Bonus question: What should video games try to do to make the ludonarrative dissonance less prominent?

At what point would you consider lasers to be SOL or FTL without statements and based solely on feats?

1st example is Vlitra’s beams that can cover the distance of multiple Earth diameters in under a second and the 2nd example is Golden Chakravartin, whose beams can cross the length of multiple galaxies in an instant and travel from the center of the universe to Earth in about 20 seconds.

Night vs Day

Saw a comment talking about how absolutely butchered Asura was in the storyboards so here’s a full comparison of THAT moment just for better visualization. I genuinely wonder who wrote the scrapped script for Kratos vs Asura. Please note that the FIRST thing game Asura does in his destructor form is protect his planet. He put his body on the line tanking Chakravartin’s beam attack head-on. What does storyboard Asura do? Go berserk and pummels Gaea with a bajillion punches, basically killing everyone on the planet except Kratos while exploding a hole on the other side the planet. Reminder that Gaea also contained Mithra, you know… his daughter who he would die for without hesitation (and spent the entire game trying to save) and innocent people he spent thousands of years of his life protecting. If DevilArtemis had not begged DB to fix this, we would’ve seen this in the final product. Just try to imagine a timeline where this happened.

Somebody saw Asura protect his planet in this form and thought “Hm, maybe I should make him use that form to destroy his planet in a fit of psychotic rage to kill a random stranger. That sounds perfectly sane!”

Well, at least the fight choreography was somewhat better than the stiff final product, so there’s that.

This is the strongest outerversal hippo I have ever seen

It took a full power punch from COMPLEX MULTIVERSAL Kratos without a scratch and kicked him away easily. How does an animal achieve such power!?

Deus is hilariously strong

First gif is Vajra Yasha kicking the head of the Karma Fortress and twisting its head, shoulders and halo enough to keep it from firing again.

Second gif is Deus in his base, not even in Vajra form or merged with the Karma Fortress, tanking a full-power punch from Vajra Yasha without even moving or flinching

The next pic shown is what the Karma Fortress was supposed to look like but got scrapped in the final product. This was shown in the game’s codex description of the Karma Fortress. It likely got scrapped due to storage limitations.

Still, Yasha being able to kick and twist that thing’s head, shoulders, and halo shows how fucking ridiculously strong he is and how Deus is even more so by just tanking a full power hit from Vajra Asura like it was nothing.

Chakravartin’s Big Bang

How strong is it? How fast does the explosion travel? Just before the statue blows up, there’s a big zoom out shot to show what the explosion would look like to someone EXTREMELY far away.

For better reference to the statue’s size, a close up shot shows that a galaxy is around the length of the statue’s hand or finger (see pic).
