What's a matchup that was considered accurate when it released but these days is viewed as a one sided stomp in favor of the winner
Aquaman beating Namor was generally agreed, but when the episode came out it wasn't considered a stomp, just decisive. In modern times however, Aquaman had his connection to the blue(clear) brought back and expanded upon(being a full on avatar these days rather than just being able to tap into it) and has generally been portrayed as a fairly high tier character in DC. Whereas Namor hasn't gotten much.
We genuinely need to slander lifting strength more. I've seen debate where skill or intelligence have been the deciding factor, meanwhile name one fucking time lifting strength has mattered in a debate.
Kamen Rider Geats anti-feat: he can’t control weather despite being god
Tracking and Tracking Evasion. Why I think Hero of Hell/Denji-Man should have better Battlefield Awareness than Yuji in this fight.
With the kind of tracking Pochita has I don't think there will ever be a point in the fight where he doesn't know where Yuji is. But conversely Pochita/Denji-Man will be much harder for Yuji to keep track of given the kinds of opponents they've made lose track of them.
Firing Dismantles blindly in every direction won't help with this since even ignoring that Denji/Pochita have dealt with invisible attacks before (Yoru's Bang), Dismantles leave clear paths of destruction for every obstacle they hit along their trajectory. Pochita/Denji-Man would be able to see the damage to the surrounding buildings far before they could reach him with his reaction speed and senses. And I honestly think with how fast Pochita travels he could likely move so far away in a short time he can go farther than we've ever seen a Dismantle slash go before dissipating. Especially if he uses the Heart Throw he used against both Makima and Aging.
Now if Yuji has some crazy sensing/tracking feats I don't know of, feel free to share them. But as it stands I think Denji should be able to pull off hit and run tactics very well during this fight.
Morally Ranking every character featured in Death Battle: Day 16! Where would you guys rank each of the Killer Instinct combatants, and why?
The criteria for each tier goes as follows:
- Exalted- Individuals who stand as a symbol of moral virtue and kindness. They're not necessarily flawless, mind you, but they always go out of their way to lend a helping hand and see the good in others where most won't, even in spite of having nothing to personally gain from doing so.
- Good- Those who are all-around dedicated to preserving order for the setting they live in and protect those they care about. Be it through their ego or vindictiveness however, they display enough notable folly to prevent from being wholly admirable.
- Moral- Generally affable and good-natured people all around, but aren't too outgoing when it comes to heroics and/or charitability. That, or they're generally considered on the right end of the moral spectrum IN SPITE of their otherwise serious flaws.
- Neutral- Where the line between good and evil is blurred on a teetering scale of equal parts admirable actions and immoral indecency.
- Impure- Denoting who, while not necessarily "villainous" through-and-through, still aren't very pleasant individuals to be around for the most part.
- Evil- He/ she who is indisputably a villain, but is way off from being the worst of all time. Behind the cold, hard exterior, their lies a deep-seeded sense of vulnerability that leads the bad guy to show care towards others or put aside their differences with the hero every once in a while to stop a common foe.
- Vile- The SPECIAL kind of evil that just leaves you sick to your stomach, there is no depravity that these villains won't stoop to an ends means in order to get what they want. And for certain few, depravity itself is the end goal!

i have a gut feeling this is whats gonna be revealed at comicpalooza and it is then itd be… terrifically fantastic
Day 19 of Yuji vs Denji posting: A Yuji Appreciation Post (why I’m rooting for Yuji)
Hello everyone! I wanted to write an appreciation post for one of my favorite characters of all time, and my root for the upcoming Death Battle…
Yuji Itadori!
Originally, I was really struggling on how to write out this post, since I’m not super good at character analyses. However, I still wanted to talk about why I like Yuji in anticipation for the episode, so this’ll be a a somewhat organized summary of Yuji’s character and what I like about him lol
About Jujutsu Kaisen
Anime is a relatively recent interest of mine, and I only really started getting into anime a few years ago when I first started watching JJK because one of my friends was really into it at the time.
I was pretty much immediately hooked onto the series. The power system was really interesting and the fights looked very cool, but most importantly, I just fell in love with the main cast. Megumi, Yuta, Maki, Gojo, Sukuna, and Choso are all characters who I hold very closely to my heart and I love seeing them. My favorite character of the series though is the protagonist himself; Yuji Itadori.
First on the surface level, I think Yuji is just a really endearing character. At the start of the series, Yuji’s someone who’s just brimming with positivity. He’s definitely a bit simple, but he has a very likable and fun personality. I think the most interesting part of him at the start of the series though is him trying to cling to his morals, despite the world of jujutsu trying to push him otherwise.
Jujutsu Kaisen’s world is one which rewards selfishness, caring only about oneself and trampling over others for your own whims - which is embodied by Sukuna. Yuji’s the polar opposite though. He’s always looking out for others, always trying to avoid killing people, and his overall goal is to lead everyone to a good death.
People like Sukuna and Mahito try pushing him again and again, breaking him down physically and mentally because of his ideals essentially spitting in their faces. This leads into the Shibuya Incident, where Yuji’s completely broken down from the loss of Nobara, Nanami, and all of the people who were massacred by Sukuna.
This guilt weighs heavily down on him, which ultimately breaks apart Yuji’s worldview - and his previous convictions are transformed into a cog mentality. Yuji believes that his life ultimately holds little value on its own, and his only purpose now is to kill curses until the day he dies, serving as only just a part of the wider jujutsu system.
Yuji carries his cog mindset throughout the Culling Games and into Shinjuku Showdown, until his convictions are ultimately wavered from the death of his brother Choso sacrificing his life in order to save him. He later achieves his Domain Expansion during the climax of the battle, and attempts to reach out to Sukuna one last time where he has my favorite moment in the series.
“Until recently… I thought life was about understanding your role and trying to fulfill it. If I had died doing that, then I could say I died a good death. But now I don’t think that’s right. Just walking your dog and raising a family are also decent roles. And even if all you do is eat and poop, or lie sick in bed, or don’t connect with anyone and end up leaving nothing behind… Instead of memories giving form to your life, small fragments of memory are out there anyway, floating around and giving your life value.”
I think Yuji trying to show Sukuna the value of human life is really cool, and I really love seeing him grow from both his original lofty goals of giving everyone a good death, and also his broken cog mindset of just finding out what your role is and sticking to it until you die. I think Yuji’s outlook on life is just very uplifting, and it’s something which I really resonate with as someone who generally loves stories which touch on these themes like one of my favorite games - Persona 3 - for example.
Later during the next chapter though, Yuji speaks to Megumi inside of his soul and delivers another monologue which I think is just as resonating.
“Gramps’ sickness started as lung cancer. He rejected treatment early on because the side effects were so harsh. I’m strong, so I didn’t understand the idea of refusing treatment for that reason. Euthanasia too. That was a concept completely foreign to me. I might’ve been able to endure his treatment, but he must’ve been suffering. But after going through what we went through at Jujutsu High… And thinking of those horrors as being never-ending… I’ve come to understand how people like gramps felt like when confronting harsh reality. So… I guess I have no right to tell you… That you have to live, Fushiguro. It’s just… It’ll be lonely without you around.”
Yuji’s dialogue to Megumi is probably the most emotionally engaging part of his character for me, and embodies the aspect of him which I find the most endearing; his empathy. Yuji’s someone who deeply cherishes the value of human life, but he’s also someone who deeply understands the weight which pain can have on someone. Him reaching out to Megumi and not trying to force him to keep living, but just to empathize with him and all of the suffering he’s went through, is incredibly touching and I find this and the previous chapter being Yuji’s best moment in the series.
That’s pretty much why I love Yuji so much. On top of Jujutsu Kaisen just being a really special series to me, Yuji himself is just a very human character who I think carries uplifting messages with him and also makes me happy to read and watch - which is why he’s one of my favorite characters of all time.
About Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo
Yuji’s role in the main series is why I love him so much, but I also really like his role in Modulo so I’m gonna be talking a little bit about the series too!
I really love JJK Modulo! Again, I’m a pretty recent anime/manga fan, so Modulo was the first ever manga which I read from its start to end in real-time. I think that all of the major new characters from Yuka and Tsurugi, to Maru and Cross, and Dabura, were all very great additions to the series and I enjoy them all a lot! But this post is about Yuji, so I’m gonna talk about him here.
During Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, 68 years after the events of Jujutsu Kaisen, Yuji is revealed to have become immortal - likely due to consuming the Death Paintings - and has outlived a majority of his old friends, including his best friend Megumi. This led to Yuji entering a depressive era of his life, as he isolated himself from the fear of losing his friends.
Yuji tried to justify his isolation with the ideology of his former sensei Gojo, who wished for the new generation to not be held back by the past, and be able to carve their own future. It was during this isolation, however, that he’d meet Maru - a Simurian wishing for coexistence between his and Earth’s people. With Maru’s help, Yuji was able to achieve a dream which he had given up on decades ago; stopping the cycle of cursed spirits at large.
After Maru completes the biggest step in this plan in the Ritual of Harmony, Yuji changes his outlook on his isolation and returns to Nobara with new convictions - wishing to spend his remaining centuries alive looking after the world, and making sure they’re prepared for any issue which may rise up again in the distant future.
I really like Yuji’s role in Modulo personally, and I think it’s a cool progression of his character from JJK while giving him an interesting arc to go on - despite the obviously short length of Modulo. I also really like how Yuji’s story comes full circle in the end with him being motivated by his grandpa’s words to help others, as well as planning to turn himself into a cursed object after his death which parallels Sukuna himself.
About Yuji vs Denji
This is gonna be the final section of this post, and I want to talk about why I love Yuji vs Denji so much in relation to why I love Yuji! Primarily, I think that this matchup brings out the best in Yuji’s character. (Not in comparison to all of his other matchups, but it’s one which really excels in it imo)
Denji is a person who’s gone through so much trauma and suffering in his life, beyond even what Yuji’s been through. I think that the emotional story potential of the matchup, and Yuji trying to reach out to and empathize with Denji, really highlights my favorite aspect of Yuji’s character in showing his humanity to a character who desperately needs it after everything he’s been through in his series.
I love both Yuji and Denji a lot, but I’ll always stick with Yuji Itadori. I’m more than fine with Denji winning, and I actually think he wins debate-wise, but I still really hope that Yuji wins the Death Battle regardless… Or at the very least, that Yuji gets a great and respectful portrayal on the show.
I absolutely can’t wait for the episode!
SPOILER for The Boys
>!I really thought he will get upscale due to the ads so he can get a W in his next episode, lol.!<
Gege is my uncle and he told me that Yuji is boundless
Yuji VS Denji (Jujutsu Kaisen VS Chainsaw Man) "Revved Up Sparks"
Did Death Battle do your favorite character justice in their episode(s)?
Since I could go on for hours talking about how my favorite character of all time (Metal Sonic) was done so much justice on the show, I wanna see how other people's favorite character faired on the show. I honestly love talking about this show even if we have to criticize it from time to time, it's pretty much why I love this sub so much.
And hey, hopefully it can take people's minds off Homelander's very recent L.
Last post I’m ever making on him; he somehow made it worse. I think I speak for all when I say anyone who purposefully misgenders people are not welcome in this community. It’s clear Grandbull has zero remorse so I think we should all not give him anymore attention. People like him don’t deserve it.
Just wanna say to anyone reading this?
If you are trans or just identify under different pronouns?
I apologize if you see people like this in this community. You deserve to be treated just like any other human being. Even if you are having a bad day and are a bit rude to a person, that doesn’t give anyone an excuse to misgender you.
Keep your chin up.
Ballot Banter 141 (Last Week)
Ballot Banter 142
With Chad, Sam, Liam and Ben
Shin Asakura vs Hakuri Sazanami (Sakamoto Days vs Kagurabachi) Kagurabachi is apparently the hot new shit as everyone is all about it now. Liam’s favorite part is a fan edited meme for the series saying “We killed your dad for bus money, then we walked” which he always laughs at. Shin Asakura is the most anime name. Says kagurabachi is getting more popular and they will look into it, so maybe post this again next ballot but at the moment they know nothing about it.
Doctor Octopus vs Viktor (Marvel vs League of Legends) Assuming it is going more Arcane Viktor based on the thumbnail. General story is the same. Gets why people would want this. Connections make sense. Likes the idea of science scientist vs magic scientist. Is fun. Ben says Doc Ock is a character where nine times out of ten he looks dumb as shit but then you get that one art piece that just blows you away with aura. They really like this idea.
Sans vs The Judge (Undertale vs OFF) Another they have seen a couple times. Talked about it before. Liam asks what the judge does, because he keeps seeing him but doesn’t know. Sam says they swear they had someone come through and explain it to them once. Don’t remember the details off the top of their head.
Seig vs Firefly (Fate vs Honkai: Star Rail) Sam tries to explain it like they are both “robot people” before saying genetically engineered homies. Seen a few firefly match ups, mostly for samus. They don’t know anything about Seig. Calls it Anime Terminator vs Gacha terminator based on the descriptions.
Boggy B vs Plankton (Worms vs Spongebob Squarepants) When liam first saw this his face lit up in surprise and joy. Didn’t know Boggy B was the mascot name for worms. Thinks it is dope. When the next dune comes out, they have to do Worms vs Sandworms (Joking) on cast. Says scratch all upcoming plans for casts, they have to do this.
Eric Myers/The Q-rex vs Grimlock (Power Rangers vs Transformers) Quantasaurus Rex is the greatest name in fiction. Description is good. Sounds really fun. Robo T-rex battle would be dope. Back when they did Power Rangers vs Voltron, Ben wanted to get the T-rex Zord to do something really cool on it’s own, but in motion it doesn’t look good by itself. Grimlock’s personality vs Eric’s, if they recall eric is just kind of a dick. He is very prideful which would clash with grimlock in a very fun way.
Murray vs Rapheal (Sly Cooper vs Rise of the TMNT) It isn’t something they would ever consider pairing up together but thinking about it, it makes a lot of sense. Unfortunately would see Murray die horribly.
Madam Bo vs Grandma Gertie (Mortal Kombat vs Hey Arnold) What is this? Chad is just laughing, ben and liam seem speechless, Description says: Make sure to call your grandma and say you love her. Sam replies he is out of grandmothers so jokes on you. Gertie knows some martial arts if they remember. Gertie is just getting dumpstered, there is zero chance.
Indominus Rex vs Sharktopus (Universal Pictures vs SYFY) Had this before, love the thumbnail and art. Be wild. Trying to animate Sharktopus would probably be one of the most complicated rigs they would have on death battle.
Nel vs Midna (Bleach vs Zelda) Calls this an old idea. When they are little, they are cute, when they get big they are hot. Makes sense. Used to see this one a fair bit more regularly. Sam likes midna because she is a character that is relatively contained, as in you don’t need to get a bunch of different books or games to go over them.
Team Chaotix vs Team Rocket (Sonic vs Pokemon) They laugh and enjoy this. Liam wants to see jessie and james ripping open Vector’s mouth like king kong to a t-rex. Chad says he isn’t convinced Team Rocket can be killed. Be fun going through the pokemon anime and finding everything Team Rocket survived as durability feats. Asks which pokemon do they get or is it just Meowth. Team Rocket has so many mechs.
Shiki Ichinose vs Rudo Surebrec (Tougen Anki vs Gaciakuta) Don’t know what Tougen Anki is. Chad said Rudo terrifies him. Connections seem good. They like it. Apparently Gachiakuta and JJK are technically cannon to marvel.
The Warrior of Light vs The Champion of Azeroth (Final Fantasy vs World of Warcraft) Chad starts by asking “What? How?” Ben asks what does he mean and sam clarifies for him that they have multiple classes but they can’t be all the classes at once so you have to figure out what ones to focus on and how you want to take it. At the base level they are the two probably most popular mmo player characters ever, which that part they get the idea. But with the way the games are made, no one class is the best at everything and almost a rock paper scissors type deal. Maybe they will go over every class and compare each to eachother and the individual feats of each class.
Speedy Ceviche vs Mao Mao (Samurai Pizza Cats vs Mao Mao Heroes of Pureheat) Fuck Yeah from Chad. Had pitches of Mao Mao, so they would definitely be fun to bring into death battle. Love the unique thumbnail design editions.
Nero vs Riku (Devil May Cry vs Kingdom Hearts) Ok, yeah sure, makes sense. Doesn’t seem like much to say about it. They get it and can see the idea. This is the halfway point, 302 down and 302 to go.
Hannibal Lecter vs Johan Liebert (Hannibal vs Monster) Monster is one of the great anime of all time, is what Liam has heard. Sam says it is very good, apparently there was supposed to be a Del Toro remake about the series that never went through.
Sheogorath vs Mr. Mxyzpltk (Elder Scrolls vs DC) They think this is kind of great. Liam at first wasn’t sure if Sheogorath was similar but they said yes he is exactly like Mxyzpltk. Sam says the Shivering Isles dlc where you go to his realm is the best elder scrolls gameplay. They say he is just awesome, and love the idea of the wabbajack being a part of it. Thinks it is a good match power wise for both. They bring up they would have to bring up Jyaggalag if Sheogorath does die.
Spamton vs Dr. Coomer (Deltarune vs Half Life VR: But the AI is Self Aware) They have no idea what the HLVR:BTASA is. Chad jokes that it is a risky google for that name. Realize it is characters that realize they are inside fiction. Interesting but a little weird. Said Chad is 40, you aren’t going to get a coomer by him without a giggle.
Shania Reid vs Dabi (Xenoblade vs My Hero Academia) Jokes that Dabi is from an obscure manga that they haven’t had on the show that much. Says he is just todoroki but fire fire. Doesn’t know who Shania Reid is.
Bill Cipher vs Shadow Milk Cookie (Gravity Falls vs Cookie Run Kingdom) They talk about the thumbnail, initially laugh at the concept of the match up from just hearing it. Bill was a great character to explore. Assumes they are very similar, because you wouldn’t put Bill against someone that isn’t a reality warping trickster.
Red Megaforce Ranger vs Rey (Power Rangers vs Star Wars) Liam asks if this is the descendent/embodiment of all the past rangers.Likes the concept of power rangers vs jedi, that is fun. Troy can turn into all the rangers, Rey is all the jedi metaphorically so isn’t quite sure how that will work. Thinks jedi’s might be stronger in general but would be fun to explore.
Power vs Foo Fighters (Chainsaw man vs Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure) Liam gets the connection and explains Foo Fighters to the rest. He finds this hilarious. This series combo is made for liam.
Sentry vs Gemini Saga (Marvel vs Saint Saiya) They don’t know much about Gemini Saga but assume he is really powerful. Connections make sense.
Homelander vs Hancock (The Boys vs Hancock) An actual Fair homelander match up, wow. Makes a lot of sense. They think about some of Hancock’s feats and say maybe not that fair. Still want homelander to die. Said if they did the research and homelander won, they would question about the optics on posting that.
Krillin vs Bandana Dee (Dragon Ball vs Kirby) It says it is for Sam. Sam says while he did ask for Krillin Match ups, he feels like krillin still will die or be stomped and doesn’t want that. The rest try to say he might win. It might come across as Krillin dying to a random waddle dee to some people, which Ben finds hilarious. Going through the rundown of bandana dee would be fun, explaining “no this isn’t some random minion but is the ultimate warrior and the king’s right hand” in a joking way.
Dr Micheal Kelly vs Roger Samms (Spider: The Video Game vs Bad Mojo) Thumbnail was spoiled incase people were afraid of bugs, but looking at it the crew says it isn’t that bad. Based on the description, Chad says you could throw Pickle Rick in this as well.
Spider-man vs Blue Beetle (Marvel vs DC) Seen this before. BB has some wild shit. Specifically Ted Kord beetle which isn’t as crazy but still has some good stuff.
Peacock vs Spinel (Skullgirls vs Steven Universe) Peacock is so cool and wants to do on the show. Skullgirls is really cool. Chat was screaming at the crew because Sam pronounced it Spine-el, and Sam said “yeah be upset at my disability, that’s cool dog” which gets a lot of laughs.
Shadowheart vs Jester (Baldur’s Gate vs Critical Role) Ben explains they are both clerics but one is more a trickster the other is a follower of shar an evil goddess. Unconventional Clerics bassically. Baldur’s Gate 3 was a great game. Both are Trickery Domain. Asks if Shadowheart would get illithid powers in this case or just the cleric stuff.
Dudley vs Steve Fox (Street Fighter vs Tekken) Another Boxing match would be fun. Steve is cool. Spiritual successor to Combo vs Balrog. Dudley has some weird movement screen warping type thing and that would be fun to analyze.
Eleven vs Rose Winters (Stranger Things vs Resident Evil) Rose is one of the newest characters. Never played her dlc but needs to.
Sunny/OMORI vs Shigeo Kageyama/Mob (Omori vs Mob Psycho 100) Thinks it is cool. Seen a lot of Omori match up suggestions, but this one is new. Get very trippy very fast. Likes it more than Omori vs The Room because that has so much deep seeded depression that it is hard to engage with in an entertaining way, while this has more humor in it to balance it out.
Peter Parker/Spider-man vs Koichi Himawari/The Crawler/Sky-Crawler (Marvel vs My Hero Academia) Wall Crawler vs Sky Crawler seems interesting. Not quite sure on Koichi’s ability, Liam heard it did eventually upgrade form sticking to things. Seems like both have a danger sense based on the description.
Moon Knight vs Azrael (Marvel vs DC) Love this, it’s so sick. Moon Knight has some kick ass costume designs and is one of the sickest characters in marvel.
Evil Morty vs Nine Tails (Rick and Morty vs Sonic Prime) They don’t know Nine, and find it funny his name is Nine Tails. They see he has robot tails and says he is like the doc ock of sonic. Chat corrects it in saying his name is just Nine, and he isn’t really evil. Liam says Evil Morty isn’t really evil per se either. Just a matter of perspective.
Big Boss vs Nick Fury Senior (Metal Gear vs Marvel) They like this. Sam says other than fury becoming the “Spectre” this is awesome. The Chat corrects that he was The Watcher once. Said they would probably leave that out of the debate. Been a while since they have seen the OG nick fury, as Samuel Jackson sort of became Nick Fury’s visage forever. Liam points out that Sam Jackson is Nick Fury jr and the old white one is Nick Fury Sr. Relizing that means they are all good to go since they are two different Nick Fury’s.
Gold Ship vs Kaela Kovalskia (Umamusume vs Hololive) A horse vs someone that rides a horse. They get a good laugh about this. The art of the two going cosmic catches them off guard. Chat informs them that Umamusume has a lot of bizarre scaling and crap, with Gold Ship resetting the universe being the least wild. Liam says Gold Ship vs Arceus. Ben asks this is the horse girl based on a real life horse and the rest say yes. Chad kind of wants to put Umamusume against Azure Lane, real life horses vs real life ships only bullshit anime stuff.
Beast vs Winston (Marvel vs Overwatch) Hell yeah man. They get it, it’s cool. Shame can’t enjoy the Frasier Crane anymore. Kellsey Grammer is a terrible person.
Zoe vs Cici (Monster Prom vs Mashup Week) For not their generation, sam says. Looks cool. Starts laughing at the different memes and characters in the Mashup Week thumbnail part, especially Lord Farquad. Has heard of Monster Prom. Says Mashup Week and Skibidi Toilet share a vendiagram.
Wolverine and Gambit vs Sanji and Zoro (Marvel vs One Piece) Would have imagined it being Wolverine and Cyclops as the duo instead since they have a common antagonistic rivalry, but maybe gambit and wolverine does also they aren’t sure. But does like the idea. Thinks it is neat having a duo fight but both parties also hate their partners and constantly but heads, because without luffy and the rest of the crew around zoro and sanji would probably kill eachother without a care. Ben does say Gambit does make sense because they have clashed before, and wolverine beefs with everybody but gambit is one of the only ones that actually dishes it back at him. Also neither are the leader of the group. Interesting ability clash. A lot of fun.
Next time: Itachi Uchiha vs Arlecchino (Naruto vs Genshin Impact)
I just realized something else with Granbull’s video. He said Nero would never use her Caster stuff in character. Her…CASTER stuff? She wouldn’t use her CASTER, stuff? Nero wouldn’t use the form where she wears a swimsuit? Miss Showboater look at my body? She wouldn’t use that? Uh huh.
