Newbie looking for advice

I'm new to the pokemon cards world, only started learning about it because my kiddo got interested and therefore I need to get interested. We're "collectors" and battlers, definitely not investors. We ripped everything and play with our duplicates. Cards have been difficult to find at reasonable prices, so I'm stuck with a bit of a dilemma.

I just received our two pokemon center chaos rising etbs, and from what I keep reading and hearing is that these are worth more than regular ones.

Is what's inside really that special?

Should me and my 6yr old rip these and play with them?

Or should I take them to a card show and try to trade them for regular etbs and possibly something additional because of the higher value?

Is it worth the hassle?

Thanks!

Took 6yr old to card show, a kind vendor gave him some loose cards and this pack for free. Ripped it at home and got this, looked it up and seems to be a good card. Could it be a fake pack/card and that's why they gave it for free? If it's real, should we go back and pay them something for it?

Edit: Thanks for the verification ,everyone! Kiddo is already excited, but he will be off the wall happy to hear it's real.
