Need advice: 2017 X3 70K miles suddenly a LOT of issues
Sorry this is so long. I’m not very experienced with Reddit posts:
I had new tires replaced mid-may at BMW dealership. They found issues with the differential and the CV axle. Now I also have turbo and front thrust rod brushing issue. Below are recommendations.
Turbo is leaking: replace
front thrust rod brushing torn: replace
Left front CV axle is seeping: replace outer boot
Right side rear differential seeping oil: replace both rear differential side seals
Additionally, brake pads need replacing soon so there’s that to add to all the costs.
My question is should I do these repairs? The dealership is telling me it;s not worth it as I could continue to have more and more issues.
My problem is I cannot find a car that I like that I also can afford right now. I’m curious if you guys think fixing these would buy me a couple months to look for a new car?
I had an extended warranty that ran out mid-May. The dealership is checking to see if the CV axle repair, and differential could be covered.
