Hi everyone,

I'm setting up a new workstation for heavy rendering/compiling, but I’m getting cabinet shock because my house doesn't have a proper earth connection. I want to hire a local electrician to dig a dedicated earth pit just for this one switchboard.

I’m planning to use a 3-meter Galvanized Iron (GI) pipe or a chemical earthing electrode. Fortunately, I have a patch of raw soil right outside the room, so there is no concrete to break.

What are the current local rates for these materials (GI pipe, 2.5 sq mm copper wire, salt/charcoal)? Also, what is a fair labor charge for digging the 10-foot hole and wiring it up to the socket? I want to make sure I don't get overcharged. Thanks!
