Although my dentistry has decent reviews and they are really helpful and nice, i thought i’d get a second opinion just in case.

I am late 20’s, not a smoker or drinker.
My gums have been receding for the last few years, and it has got to the point where (i think these are the right numbers) teeth 2, 16, 24, and 27 have their roots showing, and neighbouring teeth are starting to get there. I have to use a particular toothpaste to stop the pain(/sensitivity?), but some days it is still too sensitive, even when brushing.

I use an extra soft tooth brush (the micro nano things) and try to brush up to twice a day, or at least mouthwash when i do not. When i was younger i was told i have gingivitis, but when changing practice and going to my current dentist, they have not mentioned it.

My dentist had advised that because the gums are receding naturally and there is no trauma, my option could be to have gum surgery but if they are receding naturally then it will just go back down.

My last appointment was early ‘25 (when the photos were taken i believe), and i had a wisdom tooth start to come out i think late ‘23, but has stopped moving.

Am i doomed to natural gum recession? Or is there something the dentist is missing?
