I'm looking for groups to watch the Vols football season with.

The small family group I was with to watch the Vols play their season out isn't going to happen this year, or probably any other year going forward. I'm looking for a good group of people that I can meet with and watch the season with. I mean, I could watch it at home, but it just wouldn't feel the same to be honest. Are there any public events in our region, or even better, private groups?

So, how have you all F'd up recently?

I want to hear your stories. Plus, I hope that this post can also lift up everyone's spirits to help get over the disappointment and depression from it, like in this case. Sometimes, its good to get out what's in your head. I'll start.

I'm training on to drive dump trucks. I had to spread gravel down a thin driveway. Well I F'd up and I caught the lifted bed on some power lines and knocked some down and split a wooden pole that they were attached to, as well as cracked the windshield of the truck. Probably the worst mistake I've made so far, even if its actually tame by most standards. The electric co replaced the lines and the pole and I left with no injuries and only the truck's windshield needing replacing, but the fact of the matter is that I should've paid more attention to my surroundings. Sometimes it is hard to focus on 3 different things - overhead obstacles, spreading pattern, and lifting bed all at the same time. That happened today, same day of post. Around 12pm. I'm still reeling hard from such a stupid mistake.

Starter issue & occasional single tink even when running - 1990 S10 4.3TBI auto

So these, I believe, may be two different issues.
Ever since I replaced my old starter with another due to the gear sliding out and hitting the flywheel, it has had an issue with heat soak and cranking. I say heat soak because first thing in the morning, it'll crank wonderfully, and if I let the truck sit for 10+ minutes ish or more, it'll crank over much more sluggishly. Yesterday as I was leaving the grocery store, I tried to crank the truck and all I hear is a "whir............whir....." and then nothing. The small ground wire going from the negative post to the core support was smoking and burned to the touch. Since the insulation is a little melted, I'm going to replace the wire. The wire going to the frame above the idler arm looks just fine. After an hour and so of letting it sit there, I just barely got it to start, and it ran rough for a while then just fine on the way back home, so I may have flooded it with gas while cranking. This morning, I went out to crank it and look at the wires and it cranked just fine. The cables are nice and cool when I'm not engaging the starter or the engine is actually running. Do you think the solenoid is failing internally, causing high resistance? The positive cables do not get hot at all.

And with the occasional thunk issue, when the engine is running, I'm hearing a single but louder "tink" noise once in a while. There's no rhythm to it, it just happens as the engine is running. I don't notice any rough running issues or electrical issues when it happens, it just happens when it decides to. I can't tell if its just metal expansion from getting warm or what.

With Reddit as an exception, have you given up on any other social media sites? What has been your experience?

I ask this as a sort-of follow up to a previous post made by Lemonade about social media in general. Ya'll had some good viewpoints as to why its gone downhill.
I was locked out of my Book of Faces account just the other day and to be honest, its been a REAL mental battle. On one hand, I hated Facebook ever since they got rid of the old site format and forced everyone to that new lame simplified interface, and with the addition of bot accounts and AI and constantly showing random posts and profiles, that made my hatred even worse. BUT. On my other hand, I developed a habit of getting on and seeing some funny pics and news and I even had something going on the Dating portion of it. I didn't have any personal friends sharing much, so there's not much loss there, but it was a habit that I'm currently trying to shake off. I mean just thinking about waking up in the morning and reaching for my phone just to realize "Oh, I'm locked out of the Book of Faces", the routine addiction is real. I'm trying to figure out a way to replace it with something better. I don't use Snap, Instant Grams, or Tok Tik, just mostly FB, Youtube, on here, and that's about it. Your social life after grade school or college really takes a nosedive, and its pretty friggin' spooky.

So I really want to hear ya'll's experiences and how you all felt when you gave up some social media. When did it click in your head to make a decision? Was it as bad as someone whos smoked for years trying to quit it cold turkey?
