I said something hurtful to my sister-in-law and I don't know if I should bring it up to apologize or move on?
My brother's wife is pregnant and she was talking about being tired and having restless leg, and my sister (has a five month baby) joked that next time she was going to adopt because pregnancy sucks, and I said "yeah but it's not really the same because it's not *your* baby," and then my sister-in-law was like, "adopted children are their parent's children in every way."
I don't even know what I meant by that or why I said it, I don't really think that's true. But than afterwards my sister reminded me that my sister-in-law *is* adopted. So like I really shoved my whole foot in my mouth with that one.
Now I don't know if I should bring it up to apologize to her or just move on. She didn't seem upset or hurt and didn't act any differently before or after with me. Would bringing it up be weirder since the conversation moved on so quickly?
She's really nice and I feel even worse because she's pregnant, like I bullied a pregnant person and implied her parents liked her less than her siblings or something 😭
