Looked up my generic AI on ProPublica Rx Inspector 🤢

Looked up my generic AI on ProPublica Rx Inspector 🤢

I was listening to ProPublica new episode on PaperTrail about generic drugs and decided to look up my AI generic drug. My meds came from a factory in India that has documented failures since 2019. I am going to talk to my pharmacy to see how much it would cost to switch manufacturers.

I provided the link in case you want to look up your generic drugs.

Background Info:

Both parents in their 30s

One kid in preschool and one in Kindergarten

Mother has 11 infusions every 3 weeks of ‘chemotherapy lite ’ left, to ensure the Breast Cancer does not come back. It however is causing fatigue, diarrhea and vommiting. And the fatigue 😩 Also my shoulder and arm are still so weak from two surgeries and radiation, so can’t really carry the kids. Moms works a full time job from 8-3:30. It brings in 40% of HHI and the health insurance to pay for it. Cannot reduce hours.

Dad works a demanding teleremote technical work. Very understanding with my health (ie works in infusion rooms, even in Teams and client calls). Primary parent. Gets the kids up, feed them, pack lunch and takes them to school. I do pick up. Husband also cooks dinner, though to be honest we eat out so much more than we should. If I am having a bad day, my husband takes them over to my mom for dinner (and if it really bad, them stay the night and she takes them to school). He had a breakdown last night. Scared for me, hate that I have 33 more weeks of treatment. He is feeling overwhelmed and tired.

Mental Health: Mom and Older child get weekly counseling. Couples counseling every over week.

Outsourcing:

  1. Weekly house cleaning. Very through

  2. One night a week at grandmas

Problem: My husband is drowning with the household and parental responsibilities now that I have been back at work for two months. He hand a break down last night and the kids stayed at my mom’s. My mom is in her late 60s, so she is need her limit. There is no one else who will watch the preschooler.

We have $2K/month to work with (we currently are having minimal monthly saving but we do have an emergency fund). What would you do to outsource household chores and childcare (preferably at home, because the kids want to be at home)?

I would love to hear your thoughts 💭
