Toe Stops falling out

Hi skaters. Bought a pair of Moxi Lolli's this year. Used them only a couple times and the left toe stop that came with, fell out, never to be found again. For context, I use the left toe stop and not the right out of habit. Switched to PowerDyne Jupiter Toe Stop and washer/nut. Secured them with the crab tool immediately before the next skate, left one fell out again. Fine. Had my dad tighten back in as tight as possible. This time it fell out and I didn't even put it down.

The threading and nut are the right size (outwardly). Has anyone had this issue?

My thoughts/advice from SOI and Stargazers -Chicago

Hey skating fans - wanted to share some thoughts from the SOI/Stargazers in Chicago at Allstate.

First, if you can get your hands on Stargazers, do it. It's worth it. If you do, go EARLY. My friend and I got there 2.5 hours before the doors opened and got in the front row. We were about 4th in line to get in. Shout out to the people around us if you're reading this - it was a great group to wait with. For a long wait, it went by fast because of that.

There has been a theme of disorganization around Stargazers - and this was no exception. They weren't prepped AT ALL. So just expect that, and be patient. That said, it is such a unique experience to see the practice.

Ilia was out and then went into the back quickly and we thought that might be that, but he came back out and he and Torg put on a great show kind of trying to "one up" each other. Amber is so powerful, Isabeau is so graceful, and Alysa is just the total package.

Seeing the skaters and their jumps and spins and extensions on tv or online is one thing. In person, it's mind boggling.

For the SOI show I also had great seats (second row but not on the ice or anything). Close enough to Ilia to just about make my heart stop a couple times. He is SUCH a showman. I'm old enough to be his mom so I appreciate his athleticism :) The crowd absolutely roared for Ilia and Alysa, but it was a hometown crowd for Jason and Danny so that was extra cool (Jason's babysitter was behind us at Stargazer!), but everyone performed their hearts out.

For the SOI show, yes, you will want a thousand videos and pictures. Try to resist. It's hard. The skaters move so fast, it's hard to get great pictures and be able to enjoy the show at the same time. Live in the moment, soak in what you are seeing.

Random thoughts: The costumes are INCREDIBLE. Pictures do not do them justice. Hearing the blades in the ice is surreal. The pairs were especially fun to take pictures and video of.

I hope this was helpful. I hope you can go. If not, keep supporting skating in your own way! ⛸️
