Job pick

Has anyone from NYCID received the information for the job fair yet? Because I haven't.

I've been checking my email every day, and I'm worried I'll never get it.

I'm a freshman in high school, and I'd say the school I attend isn't too large. My current GPA is 3.55. I really want to attend UCLA, although it's probably unrealistic considering the cost of college in 2029. I don't have any awards really at best probably consistent honor roll awards, I played soccer and basketball in middle school and got a few trophies but it's middle school so it won't count.

I am working this summer for SYEP, and I plan on getting more community service hours this summer online, I applied for college summer programs I don't know if I'll get in but other than that I have my own personal projects which I heard count as passion projects one of them is writing my own book that I'll be publishing on wattpad another is astrology to aid my study of psychology but that's all. I want to join red Cross whenever I get my mother to sign what she needs to but that's about it.

My long-term career goal is to become a neuropsychologist so at UCLA I'd want to study psychology or psychobiology and neuroscience. My backups after UCLA are UConn and Rice/UC Berkeley these are all probably reaches, I haven't found any targets yet.

Edit: (I know freshman grades typically aren't important but I am at the end of my year and in terms of advice I mean for next year and over the summer not for this current freshman year since it's over in like a month and a half)

First of all, congratulations to everyone and the colleges you got into, to the ones that waitlisted you/deferred you, and rejected you! You all took a risk and hopefully ended up at the school that you're meant to be at.

Secondly I am not currently applying to colleges because I'm a freshman in high school but I would like to ask for advice my dream university is UCLA, the thing about that is I don't really know the first thing I should do I'm at the end of my freshman year and so far this year I've mostly been keeping up my grades, I spoke to my college counselor once because any other time when I wanted to my grades dropped and I felt like what was the point to talking if my grades aren't up to par. I did sign up for online volunteering but I haven't done much of it which I will fix in the summer, I'll be working for SYEP this summer as well and other than that I'll be working on personal books I'm creating. There isn't much I have to show right now.

I know many people do passion projects and nonprofits but I don't even know where to start if I were to do one because there is something done for almost everything. Any tips?
