Have you heard of OpenSheet?

Well if you haven't, allow me to introduce it to you.

It's a user-friendly, comprehensive, customizable D&D 3.5e character creator made by u/Conscious-Guide-2738. It has so many sources under the moon, and it's got so many features for just a DEMO.

I've already recommended this to about 15 others, and they all love it!

So go check it out, the demo's free on steam!

And who knows, maybe you'll love it too!

Warlocks and 3.5: They suck.

Warlocks are never as good as their 5e counterparts in 3.5.

So, if I were to rework the warlock class in 3.5, how should I do it in a way that makes them just as good as they are in 5e?

Onerae: My Pathfinder 1e/D&D 3.5 Homebrew setting, is gearing up for another cool world-building campaign!

So, first question: Why both instead of just one?

Simple. They’re pretty easily compatible with each other, so somethings can fit into both editions.

Sometimes I want to run mythic campaigns, where my players get to be powerful throughout the game, and have a good challenge with other mythic battles.

Sometimes I want to run epic campaigns, where my players grow more powerful and experience growth, until they literally become the most powerful beings in the universe.

It really depends on what I plan for the campaign. Either can be of any length, though typically, Pathfinder is used for medium-long campaigns, and 3.5 is either used for fast or long campaigns.

Second question: Why these editions over 5e or something newer?

More customization, honestly. So many archetypes, so many feats, so many spells, so many possible builds. Also, uncapped stats make players feel more powerful, and it makes danger actually seem dangerous.(35 STR score go BRRRRRRR).

Third question: What the hell is a Onerae?

My homebrew setting! The world is still a work in progress, my players and I build it as we play(the first campaign built up mainly The Talowood, Talomine, and The Great Dustlands).

Most of what happens for now takes place on the continent of Talo, as I want to focus on one location at a time. This time, I’m going to start building up North and South New Panama.

Follow-up to third question: The hell do you mean North and South Panama???

For some context, the established lore I have is that New Panama was established when hundreds of humans from the United States were, for lack of a better term, isekae’d into Onerae to the Panamian Peninsula in about 1920. Thus, being uncreative, not only did they name it after Panama, but they constructed yet another Panama Canal. And yes, North and South New Panama are both democracies, and they have a friendly rivalry going on, which even the minor deities have taken notice and, more importantly, entertainment to.

Ah, ok. Fourth question: What’s the plot?

You see, every 10 years for the last century, the two sides of New Panama have decided to have a friendly competition to determine who has the stronger warriors. This tournament is a spectacle to all of New Panama, and even those from outside its borders come to see the fights. These tournaments run for an entire year, as they never turn down a single applicant. After all, those with the spirit to fight are always worthy assets to the New Panamian Military, and for New Panama’s banks.

The overlap of overwhelming crowds and overwhelming power throughout its history eventually led to the most curious and important event in its entire lifetime: the Gods took notice. And they were enjoying it.

For additional context: this setting uses concepts from both Eberron and The Forgotten Realms, those being the Planescape setting, and Manifest Zones. As more and more crowds sought to gather to watch the innumerable “gladiators” battle it out, Aaron, the God of Battle, took it upon himself to make the Panamian Grand Stage a Ysgard manifest zone.

This means that anyone killed as a result of lethal damage were raised back to life completely at its conclusion, with no negative side effects. This one simple boon drew in MILLIONS in visitors, and BILLIONS in gold, and the Panamian Divine Stage, as it became known as, is now regarded as one of the most popular decennial events on the planet of Rae. Members of all races, be it half-gnomes, merfolk, or even dragons come to battle it out, as the Panamian Divine Stage is a neutral zone, meaning people of ALL alignments are allowed to attend. And because no one can die permanently, it means all business is to be settled outside the stage. They do not judge, they are simply there to watch the bloodshed and glory for all who wish to reach it.

And now, it’s my players’ turns to fight, for whatever their reasons may be.

This will be a 3.5 campaign, because it will lead into epic levels. There are people from all over the world, and beyond who attend this tournament hailed by the gods themselves, and therefore, there will be very powerful beings who wish to test themselves against other very powerful beings. If all goes well, my pcs may even be able to partake in these highest-level fights.

But for now, all I want is for them to experience a fast-paced, combat-focused campaign with compelling characters, because they all seem to love the numbers game a lot more than the roleplaying aspect(which is ok, and is why I’m running this in the first place!). I’ll give them more details as I work through the other details of this campaign.

If you have any further questions, I am open to all ears and forms of criticism! Except people telling me not to run something so combat focused, because my players are already on-board and hyped lol. Just advice on how I can make it better for them!

Hell, I may even let a few more people join, to really embrace that world-wide aspect!

I’ll update y’all more on it later!
