Novels you'd like to see translated

Greetings, my fellow lily lovers! For context, I just started university this year. Usually, I'd have to go five years (1 preparation year + 4 years), but I passed the exam for the first year and skipped it!

My major is Chinese translation, and one of the reasons I chose it is because I want to read my favorite Chinese novels. I might get a second degree in the future, but that's currently not important.

I have always liked to read danmei, and then went on to read baihe. However, I noticed that the translated baihe novels were way less than danmei, and therefore I couldn't read too much of them, as I always prefer human translation.

I'm hoping that by the end of this first year, with the university teachings + my own independent studying, I can somehow translate a baihe for my own! I hope to be a loyal servant to the lily agenda!

I wanted to post this when I felt that I'm ready to translate immediately, but I just couldn't wait! So I'll ask now, and do later.

Please tell me any baihe that you liked or know about and would like to see translated into English, 100% by a human, no MTL whatsoever!

Any genre is okay, but I'd prefer not much historical for now, as it might be hard to translate. But still, even if it's historical, if it's interesting enough, I might give it a try! So write whatever you want from me!

I will choose whatever I find interesting, then choose maximum 6 baihe that I might want to translate. And when I'm ready, I will do a poll to ask what everyone here to choose from one of them!

Please go ahead, don't be shy! I'll look at everything you write, pinky promise! ^-^

tl;dr: Write a baihe novel that you want translated, and I will choose out of one of them to translate sometime in the future.

Any recommendations?

Despite lurking in this sub for quite some times, I have yet to play a visual novel myself. I wanted to start but there so much of them that I wasn't sure where to start from. Any novels that are guaranteed to be good? I'm okay with anything; highschool, adults; fantasy or realistic. Just something that would be considered a "classic", if you know what I mean.

Universitede Basortumu cikartabilir miyim?

Yardimci olursa ben ASBU yabanci diller fakultesinde okuyacam.

Cevap verenlere tesekkur ediyorum!

Edit: Cevaplariniz cok fazla cikti ama bana cok yardimci oldunuz! Tesekkur ederim, ben artik bu postu yarin silecem, bana mesaj yazmayin lutfen. Tesekkurler. ^^

P.S. Bana mesaj yazan birini yanlislikla reddettim, cok ozur dilerim!

How much can Mandarin knowledge help me with Cantonese?

So I learned a bit of Mandarin, and a lot of times if I have the lyrics to a Cantonese song I can understand the gist of it. Though of course I can't understand it when spoken. I paused on learning Mandarin for a while because I chose to enroll in Chinese Language Translation in university and if I get in I'll probably learn it there.

So I want to learn Cantonese but the resources are way less; grammar, vocabulary and characters are no problem, but how much can Mandarin help me in this case?

Also, how can I better learn speaking and listening? I speak another tonal language so I can get used to the tones but I need a lot of practice, and all I mostly watch are 80s-90s Hong Kong movies.

I listen to songs as well and try to (albeit using some effort) memorize the lyrics. I can even read a bit without the Jyutping, but again, not with the tones, just singing.

Anything to suggest me? Helpful and free resources? I don't have a problem with the difficulty, as long as I put my mind to it, I will definitely learn it.

Thank you!
