I’ve been looking to get into vinyl and have been debating what turntable to start with. Initially I wanted something more expensive and upgradeable with no built-in preamp, but since I’d need the full setup (turntable, preamp, amp, speakers, accessories), the cost adds up fast.

Now I found the AT-LP60X at a local electronics store for 30% off, which has me reconsidering. I’m thinking it might be a good starter table that I can later sell and upgrade from if I get deeper into the hobby.

Since it has a built-in preamp, could I just pair it with some decent active desktop speakers and be good to go?

Would you recommend this route for a beginner? Also open to suggestions for smaller desktop speakers since space is limited.
