What did SPEEA actually want?

For everyone wondering why people are saying no? We're not far off from a reasonable and fair offer.

**Wage Pools and P/OOS:**

* 5% General Wage Increase (GWI) on ratification

* 6.5% wage pools each year 2027–2030 with an uncapped Q3 CPI-W floor

* 0.5%/yr promotional/out-of-sequence.

*That compounds to roughly 37.6% by 2030.* (Edit. This assumes OOS and Promo are included, average is actually 35.1% excluding these pools)

* *Tech-only: GWI retroactive to 2/20/26, to address the Prof/Tech gap dating to 2016.*

**401k: **11% company contribution in total, broken out as:

* Match held at 75% of first 8%

* Non-elective flattened from age-tiered 3/4/5% to a flat 5% for everyone.

**EIP Target: **10%

**OT: **Time + 50% of Level 1 Prof average annual pay (edit, this is around 20-22/hr)

**Vacation: **+2 days

**Early Retiree Medical (ERM):**

Access to everyone at age 55. Premiums would be the responsibility of member.

HRA to help pay for ERM premiums would be funded by putting the value of the sick leave you normally lose every year into the HRA at your current hourly rate. 6% return on assets (2025 annual report estimated ROl for pension plan assets)

**Medical Paybands: **Raise to $150k/$300k thresholds, same cost-share percentages

**Bereavement: **3 days/year, doesn't require burning sick leave or vacation

**Floating holiday: **1 day

**Sabbatical: **4 weeks unpaid sabbatical per 7-year (with benefits)

For those of you wondering why you should VOTE NO, this offer was presented to Boeing based on feedback from the membership using the negotiation prep surveys and market data.

Boeing turned around, stole a million concessions from an arguably pretty reasonable offer, and gave us a slap in the face of a contract.

This is what the NOs are fighting for, and none of it is out of the ordinary for the industry except for the 401k percentage.

VOTE NO ON THIS RIDICULOUS FARCE OF A CONTRACT, AND AUTHORIZE A STRIKE

Edit: this information was given out by an AR and some CRs

They're lying to our faces (read the contract)

Don't just read the summary.

PER THE CONTRACT THE ADJUSTMENT FUNDS ARE

2027 6%

2028 5%

2029 5%

2030 5%

NOT the 7%, 5.5%, 5.5%, and 5.5% that's quoted in the summary.

This is NOT ACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR from our negotiating team, or BUC

Edit 1: after reading and re-reading section 11.7, they're sort of giving us 7%, except:

6% is available to the general population, the extra 1% is only available to those receiving promos and OOS pay bumps during ACR time, and it must be paid out during ACR. So it's not a 7% pool, but they are paying out 7% (same goes for the other .5% during years 2,3, and 4)

TL;DR the summary completely glosses over this fact, and everyone should be reading the contract, not the summary before voting.

PSA Google Systematically Denies warranty claims to charge you more

I'm giving up on pixel phones. I've had 4, and this one finally is making me give up.

I have a minor scratch on my screen. It happens. Then my pixel 8 has the dreaded green screen of doom. I figure, no big deal, I'll just take it to get repaired. Repair tech denies the warranty stating "there's cosmetic damage that is not covered."

Understandable, but the solution to the green screen is to replace the display unit. Scratch or no scratch. I'm not getting the screen replaced because of the scratches, I'm getting it replaced because of a design defect. Their solution? BUY ANOTHER ONE OF OUR PHONES WITH A DISCOUNT CODE.

Are you serious? After this crap?

Never again

The grass may not be greener on the other side, but for now, I give up on these clowns.

Edit: thanks for the discussion below. As frustrating as this issue is I acknowledge it's not unique, I am however upset that a long time customer since the pixel 1 is being treated like this over a tiny scratch on a screen, on a phone that has been demonstrated to have a design flaw. Regardless of what you may think about the cosmetic damage, Google needs to do better for their customers. The damage clearly did not cause the design flaw.

Edit 2: I guess I'm getting another pixel, my carrier gave me the option of a free pixel 9a... Cheapest Samsung option would've set me back by around 500 bucks. Repair was 220. Free phone better than no phone, and to some extent better than 220 dollar repaired phone. I am still sad about losing my pixel 8 that I bought outright, but at least the 9a doesn't turn green regularly.
