I ran a custom TTRPG where my players were FBC field agents investigating a possible AWE
It was fun, they found a series of redacted documents I made along side these micro cassettes I recorded. They were themed as an FBC researcher who'd annoyed senior staff and been put in the middle of nowhere at a crappy research station. They found them out of order so it was fun to watch them try to figure out what had happened in the town and try to solve the mystery.
I used a rudimentary stat system that let them customise and have different background (one was clean up crew so they were more resilient to weird stuff another was security so they were better at investing and using their weapon etc) and just did D20 rolls along side minor stat bumps.
They really enjoyed it and with Resonant coming out soon I've got the itch to make something again

How to hide rat spies
I've got a new campaign starting taking place within a large city mainly. I have 2 different characters (BBEG and potential boss fight / friend) who are using the rats to effectively spy on the entire city.
The BBEG has to do this specifically and when they're looking through someone else's eyes the person whose eyes they're seeing through shift to be like kintsugi (The gold veins) where as the other character is a sort of Myconid style creature where the rats are just infected with fungus and anything they see and know the character knows.
My party has a Ranger and Wizard who loves using find familiar. Would myconid infected rats and or mind controlled rats respond to ranger animal handling checks and find familiar checks as per usual? If so any recommendations on hiding this details at least a little.

Probably worth noting for Hunters. Could be very fun if the catalyst is good. New void kit too.

Be kind to each other and yourselves Guardians
It doesn't matter if this game has been in your life 12 years or 12 days. To a lot of us Destiny genuinely means something important.
There will be a lot of emotions felt here pretty much across the entire spectrum. Let yourself feel them but don't lash out at those in the community and even outside of it.
Grief is real. It might feel silly to say and even sillier to admit to yourself that this new has genuinely affected you. Be it feeling like you've lost something or anger at any mistakes Bungie has certainly made over the years.
Its important at a time like this to genuinely be kind to one another. You're allowed to be sad about this, you're allowed to be angry, and yes you're allowed to cry.
You might feel stupid. "Oh I'm crying because a game isn't getting updated" yeah and that's allowed. You have memories, feelings, and so much tied into this.
You're allowed to be sad you won't get another contest mode with friends.
You're allowed to be sad that TWIDs are gonna stop
You're allowed to be sad that this makes you realise you've aged and that those times are now just memories.
Be kind to each other, and to yourselves.
