Feedback on a retro portfolio website design

Hey everyone,

I designed a retro-inspired portfolio website/template for photographers, designers, and visual creatives.

The goal was to move away from the usual clean/minimal portfolio style and create something with more personality — bold type, editorial spacing, image-led sections, and a slightly nostalgic visual direction.

I’d love critique on:

- Visual hierarchy

- Typography

- Layout clarity

- Whether the retro style feels intentional or too much

- Anything that would make it stronger for photographers/designers

Not looking for soft feedback, honest critique is welcome.

Feedback on a retro portfolio website design

Hey everyone,

I recently built Palette, a retro-inspired portfolio template in Framer for photographers, designers, and visual creatives.

Hero Section

The main idea was to make something that feels more expressive than the usual clean/minimal portfolio layouts more bold typography, editorial spacing, image-focused sections, and a bit of personality without making it hard to edit.

I’d love feedback on:

  • Does the retro direction feel polished or too niche?
  • Is the layout clear enough for a creative portfolio?
  • Are the sections useful for someone showing visual work?
  • Anything you would change before using something like this?

Appreciate any honest feedback.

Just got my consulting Webflow template approved what would you improve before I push it harder?

I just got a new Webflow template approved on the Marketplace called Wings.

It’s built for consultants, coaches, advisors, freelancers, and personal brands who want something clean, premium, and more editorial than the usual “corporate consulting” look.

I’d love honest feedback from Webflow people before I push it harder:

  • Is the positioning clear enough?
  • Do the animations feel premium or too much?
  • Would you change anything on the mobile experience?
  • Does it feel useful for real client projects?

Not trying to spam genuinely curious what other builders would improve.
